Controlled bidirectional energy transfer by ultracapacitors in electric drive

Publication Name: 12th IEEE International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Informatics Cinti 2011 Proceedings

Publication Date: 2011-12-01

Volume: Unknown

Issue: Unknown

Page Range: 31-34

Description:

This paper shows the possibility of the two-directional energy transfer between energy sources using the example of ultracapacitors. The showed method allows bidirectional energy transfer between power systems which use different voltage levels. We used PSIM program to simulate the bidirectional energy transfer and study the operation of the applied model. © 2011 IEEE.

Series active filters - Spice simulation

Publication Name: 11th IEEE International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Informatics Cinti 2010 Proceedings

Publication Date: 2010-12-01

Volume: Unknown

Issue: Unknown

Page Range: 229-231

Description:

Active filters are known as the best tools for harmonic mitigation as well as reactive power compensation, load balancing, voltage regulation, and voltage flicker regulation on the power lines. To introduce the operation of active filters in education, it is a good method to use a software, named SPICE. It is a good choice, because it has a high level of objects for simulation, and good presentation objects for visualizing the results. Students can easily change the parameters of the operation, and can see the its result instead of using real power electronics circuits. In this paper we would like to use a series active filter as the power factor corrector for a "capacitive input" circuit. ©2010 IEEE.

Improving social life and communication of people with disabilities by using internet facilities

Publication Name: Ceur Workshop Proceedings

Publication Date: 2008-12-01

Volume: 415

Issue: Unknown

Page Range: Unknown

Description:

This paper presents some European initiatives developed within the Socrates Programme in order to support people with disabilities to use the new technologies. The disadvantages of the existing software designed for people with visual deficiencies together with some criteria that have to be considered in developing virtual learning applications for visually impaired are pointed out. The paper includes a proposal for improvement of the existing software for searching information and communication by people with disabilities, the first version of the FORThSIGHT Programme, elaborated in the framework of one Grundtvig 2 Learning Partnership.

Socially inclusive elearning models in companies

Publication Name: Ceur Workshop Proceedings

Publication Date: 2008-12-01

Volume: 415

Issue: Unknown

Page Range: Unknown

Description:

This paper presents different aspects in developing socially inclusive eLearning models to help people with disabilities improving their work life and facilitating their integration in small and medium sized companies (SMEs) or in other organizations. Two international cooperation that have the main aim of developing and implementing eLearning models for people with disabilities who work for different SMEs and also for groups of SMEs, within virtual communities of practice having similar profiles, are given as an example.

Reversible DC-to-DC converter for a dual voltage automotive system using zero voltage switching technique

Publication Name: 11th International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment Optim 2008

Publication Date: 2008-01-01

Volume: Unknown

Issue: Unknown

Page Range: 251-258

Description:

A novel hysteretic controller for a bi-directional dc-dc converter with ZVS and interleaving for dual voltage systems in automobiles is presented. A variable frequency extended band hysteretic current control method is proposed. In comparison with classical fixed frequency current control PWM, the reverse polarity peak current needed for ZVS operation is kept constant Inductor current ripple decreases with load reduction. Automatic changes in operation between buck and boost modes are accomplished without transient currents. Converter simulations are carried out using Matlab/Simulink platform.

Definitions and measurement of power factor

Publication Name: 8th International Symposium of Hungarian Researchers on Computational Intelligence and Informatics Cinti 2007

Publication Date: 2007-12-01

Volume: Unknown

Issue: Unknown

Page Range: 623-632

Description:

The methodology of measurement of cos was developed long time ago, but it is usable only for sinusoidal voltages and currents. Nowadays the customer loads use power supplies built with semiconductors, switching power supplies, power controlling systems, etc. These loads cause non-sinusoidal current in power lines, energy quality and EMC problems. The method of Power Factor measurement is described in this article, which is a good KPI in these cases.

Resonant flyback converter

Publication Name: IECON Proceedings Industrial Electronics Conference

Publication Date: 1998-01-01

Volume: 2

Issue: Unknown

Page Range: 1066-1071

Description:

The paper discusses a new converter circuit, the symmetrical resonant flyback converter. The fundamental mathematical analysis is presented, together with simulation results. The switches in the converter operate with ZCS (zero current switching) at turn on and with ZVS (zero voltage switching) at turn off. The second part of the paper gives the mathematical model of the resonant flyback converter discussed, as well as the fundamentals of closed-loop control.

Contribution to the development of a new type of DC/DC converters

Publication Name: IECON Proceedings Industrial Electronics Conference

Publication Date: 1997-12-01

Volume: 2

Issue: Unknown

Page Range: 581-586

Description:

This paper presents the test results and simplified design method of a new type symmetrical resonant DC/DC converter. The realized converter operates in the frequency range of 30-300 kHz. This paper contributes the theoretical results of the resonant type DC/DC converters and shows the limits of their usage. The simulation results support the theory of the losing converter. The output voltage-current curve (Vo-Io) shows the typical features of the converter operation. This paper also deals with converters working with non ideal resonant circuit.
