Description:
The paper examines how real-time data integration enhances communication, coordination, and decision-making in business-to-business (B2B) supply chains. It focuses on the use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), and cloud-based systems to support seamless information exchange between business-to-business partners. Despite advances in digitalization, many organizations struggle to implement a fully integrated communication due to inconsistent data, a lack of standardization, limited interoperability, and restrictions in realtime synchronization across partners. A qualitative pilot study was conducted using semi-structured interviews with seven industry professionals from the manufacturing, automotive, pharmaceutical, healthcare, energy, and logistics sectors, along with case studies of real-world examples from Walmart, Nestlé, and GS1, to understand how these organizations successfully practice integration. The study reveals that firms with consistent master-data governance and integrated platforms achieve higher visibility, improved collaboration, and fewer operational delays. The paper concludes that the stages of digital integration performance include a practical overview of challenges in integration, the technologies currently in use, and key innovations planned for future adoption.
