Comparison of fuzzy rule-based learning and inference systems

No authors available

Publication Name: 9th International Symposium of Hungarian Researchers on Computational Intelligence and Informatics, CINTI 2008

Publication Date: 2008-12-01

Volume:

Issue:

Page Range: 61-75

Description:

In our work we have compared various fuzzy rule based learning and inference systems. The base of the investigations was a modular system that we have implemented in C language. It contains several alternative versions of the two key elements of rule based learning - namely, the optimization algorithm and the inference method - which can be found in the literature. We obtained very different properties when combining these alternatives (changing the modules and connecting them) in all possible ways. The investigations determined the values of the quality measures (complexity and accuracy) of the obtained alternatives both analitically and experimentally where it was possible. Based on these quality measures the combinations have been ordered according to different aspects.

The roles and possibilities of cultural and social relationship in the development of tourism in Subcarpathia

Publication Name: Sisy 2008 6th International Symposium on Intelligent Systems and Informatics

Publication Date: 2008-12-01

Volume: Unknown

Issue: Unknown

Page Range: Unknown

Description:

The Central-East European region have undergone a radical change in the last 15 years. All of the political changes in regime also aimed at stabilizing the economies of the countries. Methods and short- and long-term results were different but each countries of the region strongly focuses on developing the sector of tourism, as they all realize the development opportunities of the service industry. In Hungary and its neighbors it is a recognizable trend in tourism that popular places of destination got chosen based on cultural and social connections and past relationships. This trend is truly recognizable in the view of Transilvanian and Slovakian tourism, but Subcarpathia is not so popular in spite of its thermal spas and cultural heritage. ©2008 IEEE.

Real-time and parallel quality control processing on industrial production lines

Publication Name: Pollack Periodica

Publication Date: 2008-12-01

Volume: 3

Issue: 3

Page Range: 105-111

Description:

The subject of the article is the evaluation of three acoustical algorithms on industrial production lines. The algorithm is used for the inspection of work-pieces in a noisy industrial environment. High efficiency performance requirements restricted running time and expected precise results make these inspections problematic. A sequential and two parallel algorithms and processing methods for these measurements were developed. These algorithms are real-time and multi-channel processing methods on industrial production lines. They carry out series of precision measurements in the time frame available. After the inspection the quality class and usability of the pieces are determined. These computer-aided inspections are more effective than human measurements because they are more precise, can be repeated multiple times, even with different quality requirements. They are usable on high-speed industrial production lines to obtain results in digital format. © 2008 Akadémiai Kiadó.

Publication Name: 9th International Symposium of Hungarian Researchers on Computational Intelligence and Informatics Cinti 2008

Publication Date: 2008-12-01

Volume: Unknown

Issue: Unknown

Page Range: 523-530

Description:

The contribution introduces a basic model, a manner, how to control - using the specific tools - A crossing of a highway and a lower volume road, while we stop the highway's traffic only in a critical case otherwise just slow it down.

Socially inclusive elearning models in companies

Publication Name: Ceur Workshop Proceedings

Publication Date: 2008-12-01

Volume: 415

Issue: Unknown

Page Range: Unknown

Description:

This paper presents different aspects in developing socially inclusive eLearning models to help people with disabilities improving their work life and facilitating their integration in small and medium sized companies (SMEs) or in other organizations. Two international cooperation that have the main aim of developing and implementing eLearning models for people with disabilities who work for different SMEs and also for groups of SMEs, within virtual communities of practice having similar profiles, are given as an example.

Number archetypes and "background" control theory concerning the fine structure constant

Publication Name: Acta Polytechnica Hungarica

Publication Date: 2008-12-01

Volume: 5

Issue: 2

Page Range: 71-104

Description:

In this paper we analyze in detail the central role of number '137', the so-called Fine Structure Constant in the collaboration of Pauli and Jung. First, we present the fascination or the obsession of Pauli for the interpretation of number '137'. Second, we treat the spontaneous messages originating from unconscious concerning number '137' in the wellknown dreams of Pauli. We restrict our investigations to the dreams containing the especially important formulae of Fine Structure Constant (4π3 + π2 + π), and also that containing the so-called background models of mathematical control systems. Third, we shortly mention four of the numerous synchronicities arising during the Pauli-Jung collaboration.

Nonlinear Simulation of a Magnetic Flux Leakage Measurement System

Publication Name: Przeglad Elektrotechniczny

Publication Date: 2008-12-01

Volume: 84

Issue: 12

Page Range: 184-187

Description:

The paper presents the building up of a computer controlled measurement system based on National Instruments Data Acquisition card and National Instruments LabVIEW software package. The aim of this research is to detect surface cracks on steels by applying a Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) testing method. First, a finite element based procedure has been implemented to analyze the arrangement. One important question is the position of the sensors. Now, eddy currents have been neglected, but the nonlinear characteristics of specimen have been taken into account.

Desirable versus desired: Different insulations from observability: An evolutionary step in value theory (?)

Publication Name: Journal of Human Values

Publication Date: 2008-12-01

Volume: 14

Issue: 2

Page Range: 129-140

Description:

The subject of this study, the step forward-which the author felt to be 'of evolutionary value' - was occasioned by a Delphi discussion. The debate was opened by Varga's (2003, 2006a) contrastive exposition of diagnoses of present history with respect to Hungary's accession to the European Union, offered by some leading Hungarian sociologists (Henrik Kreutz, Kálmán Kulcsár, Iván Szelényi, Iván Vitányi), in which he tried to place the views of these authors in a value sociological system by Charles Morris (1956, 1964) and Geert Hofstede (1991). In Morris' case, this involved recourse to his combination of two systems: one semiotic, the other axiological; in Hofstede's, to his system of 'software of the mind' embracing axiology and organizational psychology. This synthesis was opposed by Kreutz (2006a) who offered a new ordering principle which he advanced as truer to life. The present confrontation between the value sociological synthesis advanced by Kreutz, on the one hand, and the trends hallmarked by the names of Morris and Hofstede, on the other hand, provided the author with an opportunity to find a resolution of the tension between desired and desirable, for which he has gained some side light from Robert K. Merton's (1957) theory of the different degrees of insulation of role-activities from observability by members of the role-set (and which has derived further refinement from Jean-Paul Sartre's conception of 'glance and shame').

Applicability of fuzzy flip-flops in the implementation of neural networks

Publication Name: 9th International Symposium of Hungarian Researchers on Computational Intelligence and Informatics Cinti 2008

Publication Date: 2008-12-01

Volume: Unknown

Issue: Unknown

Page Range: 333-344

Description:

The concept of various type fuzzy flip-flops (F3) has already been proposed. We have done some investigations on a large scope of F 3s based on different t-norms and conorms. Also we have shown that a few F3 types are suitable for realizing neurons in multilayer perceptrons. The aim of this paper is to present a comparison of the performance of several type neural networks based on fuzzy J-K and also fuzzy D flip-flops (the latter derived from the former type). The behavior of algebraic, Yager, Dombi and Hamacher type fuzzy flip-flop neural networks are presented. The best fitting t-norm and corresponding fuzzy flip-flop type will be presented in terms of function approximation capability.
