No authors available

Publication Name: DETUROPE

Publication Date: 2018-01-01

Volume: 10

Issue: 1

Page Range: 71-81

Description:

International and interregional migrations, the geographic form of human mobility have a number of social, economic and political effects. These impacts can vary depending on the reference period, region or sector as well as on the goals and aspects of our interpretation. Another important question in connection with regional competitiveness is how decision makers act and react after perceiving migratory movements. Analysing the interference between immigration and regional development, we can rely on the well-known migration theories, however, a comparison of further models and concepts relating development and regional issues can be more useful for researchers. These questions are relevant, since the issues of the regional science, such as regional competitiveness and regional policy, have in the background strong associations with migratory phenomena. The aim of this study is to introduce the theoretical background, summarizing the mainstream solutions and the controversies as well. Thus the first part presents the role of the migration theories and these of the regional science in connection with the linkages between immigration and regional competitiveness. Besides it points out the importance of immigrants' inclusion. The next section focuses, complemented with the outcomes of a multivariate statistical analysis, on the theories on determinants and causalities of migration, exploring the connecting points with the issues of the regional policy.

An approach to the design of nonlinear state-space control systems

Publication Name: Studies in Informatics and Control

Publication Date: 2018-01-01

Volume: 27

Issue: 1

Page Range: 5-14

Description:

This paper proposes a cost-effective approach to the design of nonlinear state-space control systems. The approach is supported by a geometrical illustration of systems evolution in the state space, by the Lyapunov's direct method, the native behaviour of the controlled process, and the desired system matrix. The method is exemplified through the medium of a realworld process represented by the pendulum-cart system laboratory equipment.

Surface modification and wear properties of direct metal laser sintered hybrid tools used in moulds

Publication Name: Journal of Mechanical Engineering

Publication Date: 2018-01-01

Volume: 64

Issue: 2

Page Range: 121-129

Description:

Injection moulding is one of the most productive plastic forming processes. Product development and the reduction of production time require new solutions in tooling design and manufacturing. Direct metal laser sintering (DMLS) allows moulds to be built with special cooling systems, which offer curved cooling lines that can follow the geometry of the part (conformal cooling). One disadvantage of DMLS, its high cost, can be dramatically reduced with the building of hybrid structures. With conventional tool steels as the base plate and only the special geometry of the part sintered on the top, the final geometry can be manufactured after sintering by conventional process technologies. We produced hybrid structures by direct metal laser sintering maraging steel (MS1) powder onto the surface of commercial mould steels and studied the effect of different heat treatments on porosity, tribological behaviour and the microstructure. The transition zone was also characterized.

Effects of outdoor education on traveling habits of adults in Slovakia and Hungary

Publication Name: Journal of Physical Education and Sport

Publication Date: 2018-01-01

Volume: 18

Issue: 2

Page Range: 731-738

Description:

The purpose of the research is to present results of an international study are presented regarding the traveling habits of adults who participated in outdoor education programs during their childhood. Materials and methods: in the survey, 2965 Slovak and 2404 Hungarian adults were studied to determine if there is any correlation between school experience and travel behavior. In both countries, there are serious discussions as to why school education should offer and support school camps, which teach children sport skills while they are away from home. The data were processed using the Statistica program. Results: In both countries, one out of every five individuals (21.6% SK; 22.2% HU) participating in the study take a vacation in the summer months. As children, many (84.5% SK, 92% HU) of the participants took part in school water sport camps. Of these participants, 65.8% of the Slovaks and 60.2% of the Hungarians rated the time spent there as very positive. Among the positive values, 44.2% indicated that the mountains were a favourite and frequently a chosen travel destination. Twenty-five percent of the respondents spend more than four hours hiking during their vacation. Conclusions: Based on the results of our survey we can conclude that the camps in the mountains can be considered as a useful outdoor program (5-7 days), where the students can experience traveling, living together and having fun.

Temperature and frequency dependent preisach model

Publication Name: Przeglad Elektrotechniczny

Publication Date: 2018-01-01

Volume: 94

Issue: 4

Page Range: 5-8

Description:

The present paper deals with a frequency and temperature dependent modeling approach for hysteresis loops of ferromagnetic materials. The model is based on the Preisach model. The frequency dependency is taken into account by the statistical loss theorem, while thermal effects were incorporated by a generalization of the model equation. The model was validated against measurements made on a soft magnetic material. The results of the proposed model were in good agreement with measured data.

Europeanization of the Hungarian legal order: From convergence to cancellation?

Publication Name: Law in Eastern Europe

Publication Date: 2018-01-01

Volume: 67

Issue: Unknown

Page Range: 24-40

Description:

Since the political transition of Hungary in the late 1980s, the law of the European Union has been the primary external influence on the modernization of domestic legislation. This chapter aims to illustrate that Hungary, as a passive and receptive actor, implemented all components of eu law which were prerequisites for eu membership. This has resulted in an intense convergence in rules and values of the domestic and eu legal order until its accession to the eu in 2004. After accession, however, Hungary started to move from a constructive to confrontational Member State, which has led to a substantial divergence between the laws of Hungary and eu law. This chapter analyzes these processes and attempts to identify the possible consequences of this alteration in the Hungarian stance to the adoption of rules, values, and regulatory models originating from eu law. It will be demonstrated with case studies ranging from recent Hungarian economic legislation to the constitutional reform, illustrating how this new role of Hungary negatively affects the adaptability of Hungarian legal order and leads to canceling the convergence to the European law.

Relationship between knowledge sharing willingness and life goals of generation Z

Publication Name: Proceedings of the European Conference on Knowledge Management Eckm

Publication Date: 2018-01-01

Volume: 1

Issue: Unknown

Page Range: 84-94

Description:

The most critical area of knowledge management systems is the knowledge transfer and knowledge sharing. Several research results have emerged applying different approaches with a focus why employees and leaders of companies do not share their knowledge. Differences in social, cultural and individual values are in the background of willingness to share knowledge. Each of these attributes raise further questions. The main objective of this research is to examine the knowledge sharing willingness of Generation Z and consider the cultural determinants having impact on them. The research objective was to compare the results of Hungary and Slovakia. A questionnaire survey was conducted among the students of elementary and high schools. The electronic questionnaire included questions on a 5-point Likert scale, which were evaluated with a help of simple and complex statistical methods using the SPSS program. The study of life goals was based on the study of Aspiration Index in earlier research. The results show that cultural characteristics have significant influence on the characteristic features of behaviour related to trust, learning and knowledge. The national culture has impact on knowledge-friendly attitude of the school community. According to Aspiration Index Analysis, intrinsic goals gain more importance than extrincic goals. While getting older, the importance on intrinsic goals is increasing. The highly materialistic approach (preference of extrinsic goals) reduces the ability to coopearate. It increases competition and the self-interest, which are obstacles to knowledge-sharing. The ratio of goals (intrinsic/extrinsic) determines the decisions of young people (career choice), as well as those important skills that are relevant in the society and influence career choice e.g. cooperation, responsibility.
