Digital image analysing methods are widely used for evaluating local deformations in sheet metal tests and forming processes. The paper is focusing on tensile tests of uniform and non-uniform width flat specimens made of aluminum alloys, which are suitable for demonstrating Löders strain, Portevin-Le Chatelier (PLC) effect and for determination of Forming Limit Curve. Tests were carried out using GOM-ARAMIS® digital image analysis hardware and software. Observation of local deformations during tensile tests showed that initiation and evolution of local strains depend on the position of specimens related to rolling direction of sheet. Using non-uniform width specimens the local deformations are concentrated on the smallest cross-section in the final stage of tensile test. The measured major and minor strains give points of FLC.

The development of mathematical competences in hungarian teacher training education

In this paper we present research results on the assessment of K1-4 (pupils from age 7 to age 10) teacher training student’s mathematical knowledge and competences as one of the most important parameters of school teaching quality. Teachers’ abilities in grades K1-4 are among the most important in-school factors influencing the quality of pupils’ learning. A large-scale longitudinal study was conducted in which the elementary mathematical knowledge and skills of a group of teacher training students from 5 different institutes was assessed by means of a paper and pencil test that was administered both at the beginning and at the end of their second year mathematical course in the 2016/2017 academic year. This course is a methodical course in some institutions, which has an essential influence on the final results of this research. The 27-item-test covered the new standards for mathematics in the K1-4 elementary school curriculum. We have observed that those students coming from institutions providing separate methodical courses can gain better knowledge in explaining simple mathematical relations and notions than those students whose institutions do not provide methodical background in specific courses.

The goal of the paper is to search for the state environmental conditions for an effective urban governance by the analysis of the Hungarian processes of the last six years. The survey is focused, on the one hand, on Hungarian towns considered as small and medium-sized towns by European scales; on the other hand, the conditions for the birth of co-operations between these towns and their regions, and among the different sectors are also emphasised. This is the viewpoint from which the paper tries to grab the content and tools of Hungarian urban policy, and the special features of this policy. It is also crucial in this respect how the reform programme of public administration influences governance chances of cities both as regards the location of tasks and the organisational system; and also how much the cohesion policy of the EU and its urban dimension affects the public policy processes.

The cities of Central and Eastern Europe have recognized those trends, which are already visible in the Western Europe on cultural sphere. The Western European cities generate development of society and economy based on culture. These trends came up with the age of knowledge-based economy. The cultural economy and the creative economy are spreading more and more in the Western Europe. The progress is helped by the European Union through several cultural project. For example the European Capital of Culture program. Participation in this process has become a strategic weapon for cities seeking to attract cultural visitors. Nowadays, the event has certainly developed beyond its cultural origins. It is becoming a part of urban economic and cultural revitalization. Since 2007 Central and Eastern European cities also can be the title holder of the European Capital of Culture. The first city was Sibiu in Romania in Central and Eastern Europe. I examine the impacts of the European Capital of Culture program on the local economy and society in the cities in Central and Eastern Europe.

Immigrants can contribute significantly to the economic and social development of regions or urban areas. Some key figures on migration are thus traditionally used in studies on local development. Beyond the usual description of migratory movements, two research fields are often in the centre of controversies, namely the labour market and the inclusion of immigrants. Comparing the European regions, the phases of urban development as well as the relevant internal and external factors present a mixed picture in Europe. At the same time, the dynamics of migratory movements and the reactions of national and subnational policies also vary. The Member States of the European Union aim to harmonise their definitions and data on migration issues, however, the daily practice leads us to the questions of reliability and comparability of migration statistics; and the interdisciplinary character of migration research offers the use of variable research methods. The aim of this study, as a part of a presentation at a conference on urban development, is to describe some key methodological issues of migration research exploring the typical questions. The first part of the paper calls attention to the importance of data quality, processing and interpretation, describing the research methods mainly used in studies on immigration. The second part summarizes the significance of immigration in regional competitiveness, pointing out the possible "stumbling stones" in the relevant migration studies. Some of these factors, the areas that are mainly in the centre of scientific and political debates, are discussed in this paper, namely the labour market challenges and issues relating to the different aspects of segregation.

Economic development of a municipality is highly depended on organizations and institutions, which services target local entrepreneurs and other economic actors. In the summer of 2015 we have collected and mapped the services of organizations with the function of economic development in the Hungarian city, Gyor. Through our research we could identify the services and the characteristics of linkages and cooperation of the economic development organizations (EDOs). Most important findings of the study are the followings: activity of the organizations has a wide range. Some of them are presented in more organizations at the same time. Level of diversification is quite low. Directions of cooperation are mainly based on personal or ad hoc relations. We conducted that EDOs know about each other, despite of this fact the number of linkages is low. In this paper we provide findings about Gyor, but the results can be used for other settlements' economic development, too.

Colorectal polyp detection is important in preventing cancer. Structural entropy can detect different structures of distributions, such as image pixel brightness. Wavelet analysis can help in separating large-scale and fine resolution behaviour. In the method presented in this paper, the colonoscopy images are separated into segments, and a classification scheme is built in order to determine, whether there is a polyp part in the image segment or not. Without wavelet analysis edge density and structural entropy can be a basis of fuzzy classification for the polyp content of only good quality colonoscopy images, and still has about 10 percent false classification. In this contribution the effect of wavelet analysis on the classification scheme is studied.

Overcoming emotional barriers for tacit knowledge sharing

I concluded from previous exploratory research that there is currently no company in Hungary that has not heard of knowledge management. In fact, many are able to isolate tacit and explicit knowledge, while consciously seeking to share only the latter. Answers to questions regarding objections to sharing tacit knowledge are that there is no time for it, not enough money for it, or the classic "the employees are all just gossip, if there are more of them" response. There are a wide range of barriers to knowledge transfer in the literature as explanations as to why the transfer of tacit knowledge is not encouraged, in addition to "our organisation is not ready for knowledge sharing". However, what is overlooked is that one of the conditions for success during knowledge sharing is a human factor: staff attitude. After all, the sharing of tacit knowledge is voluntary in most cases and thus stems from the intrinsic motivation of participants. The organisation is able to influence employees to have a positive attitude about knowledge transfer and motivate them to satisfy higher order needs. If an organisation intends to increase employee satisfaction, they can promote cooperation and team tasks and communicate a clear vision, that is, emotional intelligence. In this paper, I deal only with the latter in detail. What kind of individual and group capabilities should companies have to build their competitive advantage based on the knowledge of individuals? What is more, I wish to project that companies need to operate more successfully. How can company's employees' satisfaction, positive attitude, and work efficiency be increased for better performance. How can emotional intelligence be improved for more success? To answer these questions, I intend to examine the emotional competences of companies in North Transdanubia with empiric, quantitative and qualitative methods, a basket of typical competences that are characteristic of emotionally intelligent companies, and its effect on a company's knowledge transfer processes. I intend to prove the relationship of factors involved in the design of corporate emotional intelligence by investigating hypotheses and then placing the established model within the known family of emotional intelligence models. Finally, I will also investigate the knowledge transfer processes of emotionally intelligent companies.

The willingness and preparedness of local governments in Ap Vojvodina/Serbia to grip and use development funds of the European Union

EU funds that are available in Serbia are modest both in volume and number, since Serbia received preaccession status only in 2014. Before that, it was only a potential pre-accession country on the external border of the European Union. From the five components of IPA (2007-2013) Serbia could have utilised only the first two components in the pre-accession process: building of EU institutions (EXCHANGE IIV, Regional Socio-Economic Development Programme) and enhancing cross-border cooperation As a conclusion we can say that although substantial sums were invested from the above mentioned resources into the economy of Vojvodina for its development, the main indicator - the GDP - has been increasing only slightly, while these projects have no effects on decreasing unemployment. In the overall economic situation, unemployment is primarily decreased by emigration, in which Vojvodina Hungarians take part at a rate above the average compared to their headcount, thus decreasing the economic power of the community through emigration.
