Analysis of RFId application through an automotive supplier's production processes

Publication Name: Isciii 07 3rd International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Intelligent Informatics Proceedings

Publication Date: 2007-09-25

Volume: Unknown

Issue: Unknown

Page Range: 177-181

Description:

The Department of Logistics and Forwarding at Széchenyi István University in Gyor, Hungary started a project in an automotive industry supplier company. The purpose of the project is to grow the efficiency of the production process. In order to achieve the target we should reorganized the IT system. During the research we had to take the special production circumstances and the already exist ad hock hformation system into consideration. The article adumbrates the course of the project shortly, the faults of the system, the own-developed new information system and represents how the human failures could be eliminated though RFId application. © 2007 IEEE.

Reconstruction decision model for trasportation infrastructure systems

Publication Name: Isciii 07 3rd International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Intelligent Informatics Proceedings

Publication Date: 2007-01-01

Volume: Unknown

Issue: Unknown

Page Range: 163-166

Description:

Improving transportation infrastructure raises several questions requiring complex analysis. Creating the mathematic model for transportation reconstruction needed developing a quick, dynamic programming process which considers the costs of single reconstruction phases and the direct or indirect profit emerging after completing reconstruction works. In the study we examined the application possibilities of the highly prestigious Bellman-theorem. We found that the combinatorial method for optimal distribution of investments is not very efficient in the current issue, although it applies the sequential method and the Bellman-theorem in a remarkable way. The method proposed in the study applies exponential partial profit-functions. The primary advantage is that it solves the problem of the complicated nonlinear dynamic programming on the basis of direct relations, without numeric analysis. Consequently, results are supplied quickly and the method allows solving enormous problems without any constraints. © 2007 IEEE.

Description:

Within the framework Interreg IIIC REGINS (Regional standardized Interfaces for a better integration of regional SMEs in the European Economy - http://www.regins.org) the Department of Logistics and Forwarding at the Széchenyi István University in Gyor, Hungary started a project with the title "Promotion of RFId (Radio Frequency Identification)". The project started in June 2005, and ended in May 2006. Our partners are situated in Upper Austria, Stuttgart Region, and Lombardy Region. Our project screens the state of the art and the ongoing development of RFId technology and processes. Special focus is on the needs of SMEs. This paper is the first in a series of publications regarding this topic, screening the state-of-the-art of RFId systems and the challanges and possibilities of the introduction to various supply chains. © 2006 IEEE.

Traffic Dependent Pavement Management Algorithm

Publication Name: 2006 IEEE International Conference on Computational Cybernetics Iccc

Publication Date: 2006-12-01

Volume: Unknown

Issue: Unknown

Page Range: Unknown

Description:

The Road Management Systems (and the PMS) usually do not take into consideration the future traffic change. The maintenance and rehabilitation actions and the development of the road network structure and the changing traffic structure modify the amount of the traffic on the road section. The deterioration process depends on mostly the volume of the traffic. That is why it is important to take into consideration the change of the traffic volume during the planning time horizon. In the lecture some techniques are shown which handle this problem: in multiperiod, long time model at each planning period the traffic volume change is take into consideration. In ranking models the problem could be handled and solved. In the case of one period Markov stabile model there is nothing to do. In the multiperiod model the problem could be solved also.

Applying intelligent methods in logistics control

Publication Name: Iccc 2005 IEEE 3rd International Conference on Computational Cybernetics Proceedings

Publication Date: 2005-12-01

Volume: 2005

Issue: Unknown

Page Range: 71-74

Description:

The purpose of this research and development project is to construct the foundations of a logistics IT center with a universal and intermodal character, i.e., covering all modes of transportation and corresponding central functions related to warehouses and container terminals. Through its modular structure it is applicable to arbitrary concrete site dependent needs. It also contains intelligent elements, which offer suboptimal solutions to certain classic mathematical optimization problems connected to logistics, acceptable from a practical point of view and tractable in the computer science sense. In order to realize and implement this system, several basic research tasks both in logistics and IT will be solved. A model for a logistics center will be constructed, suitable for present infrastructural situation in Central and Eastern Europe but compatible with European Union standards.

Optimal life-time maintenance policy and deterioration process

Publication Name: Ines 05 IEEE 9th International Conference on Intelligent Engineering Systems Proceedings

Publication Date: 2005-01-01

Volume: 2005

Issue: Unknown

Page Range: 229-232

Description:

With the recognition that the engineering structures maintenance and repair needs far exceed the rescourses available to adress these needs, many firms have to turned to the development of ESMS (Enginnering Structures Management System) as a method to improve the allocation of these limited resources and the condition of their engineering structures. The ESMS is based on performance modelingbecause of without the actual condition of the structures and the future deterioration process any model could not be build up. The paper provides an overviev of the need for ESMS and the posibble description of the performance modeling. © 2005 IEEE.
