The description of Trachycilliba dominicana n. sp. (Mesostigmata: Uropodina: Uropodidae) from the Dominican Republic is presented based on females, males and deutonymphs. This is the first conformed Neotropical species of the genus Trachycilliba. The new species has several unusual characteristics that were not observed in other species of this genus, such as a specific-shaped elevated central area on the dorsal shield and the absence of the eight post-dorsal platelets.
