Nguyen type theorem for extension principle based on a joint possibility distribution

In this paper, first we prove that making abstraction of the output obtained from the interactive extension principle based on a joint possibility distribution, in the case of unimodal fuzzy numbers and when the function that generates the operation is continuous and strictly increasing in each argument restricted to the support of each fuzzy number used in the process, then we can use joint possibility distributions with the property that the left/right side of the output is obtained from the convolution of the values in the left/right side of these fuzzy numbers. Then, considering joint possibility distributions with the aforementioned property, we find an Nguyen type characterization of the level sets of the output based on interactive extension principle, in terms of the level sets of the fuzzy numbers used in the process. These two key results complete well-known results obtained in the case of Zadeh's extension principle and also in the case of triangular norm-based extension principle. As an interesting corollary, in the special case of unimodal fuzzy numbers, the Nguyen theorem can be used to present a new proof concerning necessary and sufficient conditions on the equality of the outputs based on joint possibility distributions, respectively based on Zadeh's extension principle.

Natural Frequency Changes Induced by Vibratory Stress Relief in Automotive and Heavy Industry Structures

In this study, the natural frequency changes, induced by vibratory stress relief, were analysed. Vibratory stress relief (VSR) is a possible alternative to thermal stress relief (TSR), which can be applied to welded structures and castings to reduce residual stresses. In this paper, acoustic-based natural frequency measurements will be presented to investigate the effect of VSR treatment. Natural frequency measurements were taken on large disc-type grey cast iron components, before and after the VSR treatment and we have analysed the results for five similar castings from the same batch. The natural frequencies change when the stress state of the workpiece changes. Changes in the frequencies have been examined, and we have identified a pattern for a specific treatment parameter setting. Measurement images – spectrograms - were generated to visualize the frequency response, where stress-induced variations appeared as shifts in resonance bands. Across all five tested components, a consistent decrease in dominant natural frequencies was observed. While the results mostly align with theoretical expectations, they also highlight the complex, time-dependent behaviour of residual stress redistribution. Further long-term monitoring is recommended to clarify post-treatment evolution and material-specific responses. The results can open new directions for the automotive and heavy industry to effectively reduce residual stresses and monitor the performance of the workpieces.

ESG disclosure topics and reporting frameworks: exploratory research across automotive, construction, and energy industries

Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting and proper measurement of greenhouse gas emissions are becoming increasingly important for industries with substantial environmental impact. This research aims to assess the current state of ESG reporting practices and highlight areas for improvement across the automotive, construction and energy industries operating in the Central Eastern European (CEE) region. To achieve this aim, a multi-industry sustainability disclosure database was created and analyzed through a Python-based text-mining methodology, using term frequency-inverse document frequency and keyword-in-context analysis. The process involved extracting and preprocessing text from 60 sustainability reports for the year 2021, followed by constructing a custom dictionary of key ESG terms aligned with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards. The findings reveal considerable variance in the focus of qualitative disclosures across industries, particularly regarding climate change and biodiversity. The investigation underscores the need for enhanced transparency, consistent metrics, and rigorous validation in ESG reporting. The study also provides new insights into the technical possibilities of automated text analysis for sustainability reporting in the CEE region, and highlights key areas where improvement appears necessary.

Digital Transformation and Sustainable Visitor Engagement in Zoological Parks: A Systematic Review and Conceptual Framework

Zoological parks increasingly operate as sustainability-oriented institutions that integrate biodiversity conservation, environmental education, animal welfare, and community engagement. In parallel with these evolving roles, digital and interactive technologies have emerged as key instruments for supporting sustainable visitor engagement and conservation communication. This study provides a systematic review and conceptual mapping of the literature by combining a PRISMA-based systematic literature review with bibliometric co-word analysis. The bibliometric results reveal four thematic clusters: (1) mobile and visitor-oriented digital technologies, (2) immersive augmented reality (AR) or virtual reality (VR) based solutions, (3) animal–computer interaction and welfare-focused technologies, and (4) traditional conservation and education research. While digital technologies demonstrate measurable short-term effects on engagement, empathy, and knowledge retention, their long-term sustainability impact and systemic integration remain limited. To address this gap, the study introduces three theoretical contributions: the concept of the zoo-based digital learning ecology, the identification of the digital fragmentation problem, and the Integrated Digital Zoo Ecosystem (IDZE) model. The proposed framework conceptualizes digital visitor experience, animal welfare technologies, and conservation communication as interdependent subsystems within a unified sustainability-oriented ecosystem. This study provides a conceptual foundation for future sustainability-driven digital innovation in zoological parks.

The new generation of virtualization is containerization. In this paper we measured the most common container techniques to determinate the performance of these techniques regarding computing power and network performance with industry standard measurement applications. We used these measurement results to compare them with native performance without any container techniques and with the Linux standard virtualization KVM performance. For the first time, this paper also measures the performance of the Singularity container system, which is a new approach of HPC systems container usage.

Extending the TPTool MATLAB toolbox with LMI based observer and disturbance rejection design

Present paper demonstrates the extensions of MATLAB TPtool toolbox. The toolbox does not include the LMI based observer and disturbance rejection design. Thus, the suggested extensions include the observer and H∞ based disturbance rejection LMI conditions for TP models. Furthermore this toolbox contains obsolete algorithms. Therefore, in this paper, the recommended algorithms are presented. Showing the proposed design method is based on a nonlinear dynamic system; modified TP model of the TORA example is used. Thus, the detailed observer and controller design, the disturbance rejection design are presented with LMI stability conditions through the HOSVD based method in the PDC framework.

Keyboards of digital pianos have moderate dynamic performance compared to that of grand pianos. Real needs emerged to emulate haptic features of a piano action by a simple device. This paper deals with analytical and experimental investigation of check and repetition phase of touch. Finding out the relationship among initial velocity of hammer, duration and magnitude of impact impulse, key position, fly of time gives sound foundation for development of a haptic keyboard that offers the same sensation for pianist as the acoustic one. Parameters of governing expressions were determined by measurements. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2014.

Axial flux electric motors have received a lot of attention in recent years due to successful implementations in industrial or traction applications. Particularly, axial flux permanent magnet synchronous motors (AFPMSM) can be an attractive choice in case of high torque-density requirements or when the drive environment (packaging) is geometrically limited to a disc-shaped motor. However, compared to radial flux motors, axial flux machine modeling possibilities are much less documented. In the present study, different electromagnetic modeling approaches have been compared through an example AFPMSM design. The motor parameters were determined by analytical and finite element methods. A 2D equivalent model (2D Linear Motor Modeling Approach - 2D-LMMA) and a 3D model results have been compared. The calculated values were used to carry out a drive control analysis of the axial flux motor.
