Overview of the COMPASS diagnostics

Publication Name: Fusion Engineering and Design

Publication Date: 2011-10-01

Volume: 86

Issue: 6-8

Page Range: 1227-1231

Description:

The COMPASS tokamak, a divertor device with clear H-mode and ITER-relevant geometry, has been re-installed in IPP Prague after its transport from CCFE in UK. The first plasma was achieved in December 2008. Many new diagnostic tools with both high temporal and spatial resolutions have been developed to address the scientific programme of COMPASS focused on H-mode physics and pedestal investigations. In the paper, an overview of existing and in near future planned diagnostics (magnetic, spectroscopy, microwave, probe and beam/particle) on COMPASS is given including their basic technical specifications and achievements. © 2011 EURATOM. Hierarchical-interpolative fuzzy system construction by Genetic and Bacterial Programming Algorithms

Publication Name: IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems

Publication Date: 2011-09-27

Volume: Unknown

Issue: Unknown

Page Range: 2116-2122

Description:

In this paper a method is proposed for constructing hierarchical- interpolative fuzzy rule bases in order to model black box systems defined by input-output pairs, i.e. to solve supervised machine learning problems. The resulting hierarchical rule base is the knowledge base, which is constructed by using evolutionary techniques, namely, Genetic and Bacterial Programming Algorithms. Applying hierarchical-interpolative fuzzy rule bases is an advanced way of reducing the complexity of the knowledge base, whereas evolutionary methods ensure a relatively efficient learning process. This is the reason of the investigation of this combination. © 2011 IEEE.

Results concerning a new pattern of human knowledge

Publication Name: 2011 2nd International Conference on Cognitive Infocommunications Coginfocom 2011

Publication Date: 2011-09-23

Volume: Unknown

Issue: Unknown

Page Range: Unknown

Description:

This chapter presents results concerning a new pattern of human knowledge. The new pattern is based on the experimentation of the causal relations. The cultural origin of the patterns is analyzed in terms of philosophical, psychological and linguistic aspects. The scenario concerning a robot integrated in a cognitive system is described. The definitions of signatures and of signature classes are given as one of the first steps in an alternative modeling approach to the observation process. © 2011 Scientific Assoc Infocomm.

Nonlinear systems controller design as a result of uninorm tuning

No authors available

Publication Name: 2011 2nd International Conference on Cognitive Infocommunications, CogInfoCom 2011

Publication Date: 2011-09-23

Volume:

Issue:

Page Range: Unknown

Description:

The quality of a Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) for control nonlinear systems highly depends on the used operators. Using the uninorm operators in these processes the FLC components can be adapted to achieve better results. The program language environment, applied by simulation, supports the choosing of suitable fuzzy operators and their parameters. The simulation results are analyzed, depending on the efficiency of the operator choice in approximate reasoning model. © 2011 Scientific Assoc Infocomm.

Historical origin of the fine structure constant: Part II: Subtilis structurae constans inversae arboris dei

Publication Name: Acta Polytechnica Hungarica

Publication Date: 2011-09-22

Volume: 8

Issue: 2

Page Range: 161-196

Description:

In this paper we intend to show in some great medieval works that are indeed or very likely linked to St Stephen's court the central role of the number-archetype 137 organizing "fine structures", together with quaternary and denary proto-Kabbalistic "systems", as a possible primordial image and "model" of the quantum-physical fine structure. This is associated with the four quantum-numbers and the fine structure constant (FSC) concept, in the sense that Jung and Pauli discussed similar problems upon the scientific and spiritual history of the Western Thought.

Speed and position control of BLDC servo systems with low inertia

No authors available

Publication Name: 2011 2nd International Conference on Cognitive Infocommunications, CogInfoCom 2011

Publication Date: 2011-09-22

Volume:

Issue:

Page Range: Unknown

Description:

The paper deals with applicative aspects concerning the control of speed and position of a BLDC servo system with low but Variable in a given range Moment of Inertia (VMI). Detailed models of various applications, some control solutions are discussed and developed and part of them tested on the basis of the specific features of the plants with VMI. The adopted control solutions PI(D) control (as reference solution) and fuzzy control with homogenous and non-homogenous dynamics are briefly presented and some approaches regarding the methods are highlighted. Due to the applicability of the methods in the field of mechatronics applications with VMI (speed and positioning control of rapid plants), the presented aspects are of permanent actuality, and they offer directions of future research. © 2011 Scientific Assoc Infocomm.
