The fuzzy flip-flop based multilayer perceptron, named Fuzzy Neural Network, FNN is proposed for function approximation. In recent years much effort has been made for the development of a special kind of bacterial memetic algorithm for optimization and training of the fuzzy neural network parameters. In this approach the FNN parameters have been encoded in a chromosome and participate in the bacterial mutation cycle. The quasi optimized FNN's performance based on various fuzzy flip-flop types has been examined with a series of multidimensional input functions.

Relationship between work-family conflict and emotional exhaustion in health care workers: Mediating role of self-efficacy and stress perception

This study examines the mediating role of self-efficacy and stress perception in the relationship between work-family conflict and emotional exhaustion in healthcare workers. The study's primary purpose is to reveal the effect of work-family conflict on the emotional exhaustion levels of healthcare workers and to understand how individual factors such as self-efficacy and stress perception affect this process. The study's central question is, “Is there a significant relationship between work-family conflict and emotional exhaustion, and what role do self-efficacy and stress perception play in this relationship?” The study was designed as a cross-sectional design with a quantitative approach. The study sample consisted of 313 healthcare workers working in public and private hospitals in Turkey. The data were determined using the convenience sampling method. The data were analysed using structural equation modeling (SEM) to examine direct and indirect relationships between variables. According to the analysis results, a significant and positive relationship was found between work-family conflict and emotional burnout. It was determined that the perception of stress strengthened this relationship, while the perception of self-efficacy weakened it. While the work-family conflict was observed to cause less burnout in individuals with high self-efficacy levels, it was determined that emotional burnout levels increased even more in individuals with a high perception of stress. These findings emphasize the effect of individual factors on the professional and personal balance of healthcare professionals. This study confirms the adverse effects of work-family conflict on the emotional burnout levels of healthcare professionals. The research findings show that self-efficacy is a protective factor, while perception of stress is a risk factor. Increasing self-efficacy is critical in ensuring work-family balance and reducing the risk of emotional burnout in healthcare professionals. These results indicate that institutional strategies should be developed to reduce the emotional burnout levels of employees in the healthcare sector. Additionally, flexible working hours and family-friendly policies are recommended to reduce work-family conflict.

A Localized Multi-Level Method of Fundamental Solutions Applied to Steady Heat Transfer Problems

A special localization technique is presented for solving steady heat transfer problems, in which the thermal conductivity may depend on space variables. The original problem is split into several subproblems defined on much smaller subdomains. The subproblems are solved using the Method of Fundamental Solutions, which is a truly meshless method. This leads to a Seidel-like iterative technique, which mimics the classical Schwarz overlapping method. The problems associated with large, dense and ill-conditioned matrices are avoided. The method is embedded into a multi-level context, which significantly reduces the computational complexity.

Identification of Lateral Dynamics of an Autonomous Car Vehicle

In this paper, the ID (identification) of the lateral dynamics of a road vehicle is presented. The mathematical description of lateral dynamics is essential for the development of different autonomous functions. One of the most useful methods to define the mathematical model is the system ID based on measured data. The measurements were performed on straight track sections with an experimental test vehicle. This vehicle is capable of fully autonomous driving. During the measurements, the vehicle’s steering servo was artificially excited while the autonomous function forced the vehicle to drive in a straight line. The input to the system was therefore the sum of the artificial excitation and the control signal from the autonomous function, and the output was the lateral acceleration of the vehicle. The tests were carried out at different speeds. From these measurements, the lateral dynamic system was identified using linear ID methods.

Nature metaphors are to a large extent framed by cultural experience regarding their experiential basis, conceptual structure and relation with other cultural conceptualizations.

The primary objective of this research was to analyze the spatial pattern and interactions of dendritic rill channels and surface/subsurface channels (pipes)/collapsed pipes. To achieve this, photogrammetry drones were employed on over 70ha in the protected region of Takhtsoltan in Razavi Khorasan Province. This approach pinpointed areas impacted by erosions from subsurface channels (pipes)/collapsed pipes and dendritic rill channels and surfaces. Subsequent field visits documented 76 instances of subsurface channels (pipes)/collapsed pipes and 58 dendritic rill channels and surfaces, using orthophotos derived from the aerial drone images. In the analytical phase, topographical, hydrological, soil, and biological factors were examined as independent variables, whereas the types of erosion from subsurface channels (pipes)/collapsed pipes and dendritic rill channels were viewed as dependent variables. Spatial patterns of the subsurface channels (pipes)/collapsed pipes and dendritic rill channels were discerned using univariate functions. Further, bivariate functions were deployed to probe the interrelations, revealing that the distribution pattern of the study area's subsurface channels (pipes)/collapsed pipes is predominantly clustered, in contrast to the dispersed spatial pattern of the dendritic rill channels. This analysis also confirmed significant positive correlations between dendritic rill channel erosions and subsurface channels (pipes)/collapsed pipes. Ultimately, by identifying the erosional landforms of subsurface channels (pipes)/collapsed pipes and dendritic rill channels and understanding the spatial and processual relationships between them, a deeper insight into the natural processes inherent in their spatial structure was achieved, paving the way for devising suitable strategies for their timely management.

The paper deals, through a comparative hermeneutical macro and microanalysis, identical and very similar representational and meaning systems of such great medieval mystical writings as the Book Bahir, the Targum to Song of Songs and the Royal Mirror of St Stephen of Hungary. The basis of the comparison is the hidden ('highest') presence of the spirit of the Great Monarch. The 'identified' mystical patterns are compared with the representational and meaning systems in the great medieval art-works related to Constantine Porphyrogenitus in Part II of the paper.
