The objective of this paper is to provide a thorough examination of the developmental trajectory of female entrepreneurship research in order to address the lacuna in the literature. The study employs a combination of co-word analysis and main path analysis (MPA) to conduct a systematic review of the citation network of female entrepreneurship research. This methodology facilitates the identification of dominant themes and foundational works, thereby mapping the gradual diffusion of knowledge throughout the field. The results indicate that critical themes, including the role of social networks in empowering female entrepreneurs, gender biases, access to finance, and entrepreneurial motivation, are present. The MPA delineates the manner in which early works concentrated on gendered challenges, while more recent research has explored topics such as innovation, work-life balance, and microfinance in developing economies. Furthermore, the study underscores emerging trends, including the influence of digitalization and institutional barriers on entrepreneurship. This study is the first to integrate co-word analysis with MPA in the context of female entrepreneurship, thereby offering a comprehensive and innovative perspective on the field’s evolution. In doing so, it provides valuable insights into the evolving research landscape, emphasizing critical gaps and suggesting promising areas for future investigation. This method establishes a precedent for the implementation of more data-driven reviews in the field of entrepreneurship research.

Growth, biostimulant and biopesticide activity of the MACC-1 Chlorella strain cultivated outdoors in inorganic medium and wastewater

The use of wastewater (WW) for cultivation contributes to the sustainability of microalgae production due to the reduced costs of cultivation. The main objective of this work was to study growth, physiological performance and bioactivity of the microalgae strain Chlorella vulgaris MACC-1 grown in two nutrient sources – inorganic BG-11 medium and centrate from municipal WW. For the comparison, two thin-layer cultivation units – thin-layer cascade and a novel, thin-layer raceway pond – were used. The cultures grew well in both units showing good photosynthetic activity. The germination index of watercress seeds, as well as the auxin-like activity in mung bean and cytokinin-like activity in wheat growth tests were used to evaluate the biostimulant potential. The slight increase on the germination index was determined in C. vulgaris cultures grown in BG-11, but the biomass revealed no biostimulant activity when cultivated in WW. On the other hand, the antibacterial and antifungal activities determined by antagonism bioassay using dual cultures were significantly higher when grown in WW. We expect that the antimicrobial activities may be induced by WW-microbes and the biostimulating effect could probably be suppressed by the presence of some inhibiting substances. The results revealed a clear interplay among ambient irradiance intensity, growth rate, maximum quantum yield of PSII, Fv/Fm and oxygen production/respiration.

It is opportune to show the teaching web portal of the Faculty of Architecture at "Széchenyi István" University (www.arc.sze.hu/indexen.html), its conformation and use. Nowadays, the Internet helps to look into Hungarian and foreign study aids, architectural websites, and novelties. The Internet has created potential new and effective ways of cooperation between lecturers and students of the university and other institutions of higher education. The teaching web portal mentioned above realizes the diversity and complexity of architecture with efficient grouping of information, and is attentive to high professional standards. Computer Aided Architectural Modeling (www.arc.sze.hu/cad) is one of the new types of online lecture notes, where many narrated screen capture videos show the proper usage of CAD software instead of text and figures. This interactive type of learning helps students become more independent learners. This type of teaching modality provides the opportunity for students who need more time to acquire subject matter by viewing video examples again. Success of our departments' common web initiations can be measured through Internet statistics and feedback of the students and external professionals. © 2010, IGI Global.

Influence of imperfections in the buckling resistance of steel beam-columns under fire

This paper presents an investigation on the influence of structural imperfections on the ultimate load capacity of steel welded beam-columns with class 4 cross-section under elevated temperatures. This is done by considering different amplitudes for the global and local (plate) imperfections, and different residual stresses distributions available in the literature. To this purpose, a geometrically and materially non-linear finite element model using Abaqus software has been used to determine the buckling resistance of a steel welded beam-column at elevated temperatures, using the material properties of EN1993-1-2. The imperfection sensitivity of beam-columns is reported: the influences of the amplitudes of the geometric imperfection and the patterns of the residual stress on the load capacity are compared.

Recent developments in acoustic simulation methods allowed engineers to assess the vibroacoustic behavior of various type of structures within a virtual environment, thus allowing the replacement of prototype-based development with simulations. However, there are some factors, that cannot be considered in simulations in advance. In the present study, the effect of the distortions generated due to welding on a ladder-like structure equipped with flat plates was investigated. The measured acceleration frequency response functions were compared to finite element simulation results. The measured responses differed significantly from the simulation, even in the low frequency ranges, where the global modes were not expected to be altered or vanished. Investigation of the simulated results revealed that the additional modes were related to the vibration of the plates, which were assumed to be flat, instead of considering the warping caused by the welding process. After measuring the approximate deformation of the plates, an updated simulation model was made, introducing an approximate curvature in them. The results obtained with the updated simulation model performed much better in the low frequency range as well as in the third octave-averaged frequency bands up 1200 Hz. The sensitivity of the warping was also systematically evaluated.

The aim of this paper is to look at the pillars for developing the law-abiding “behavior” of self-driving cars. The paper will analyze the potential of artificial intelligence, machine learning mechanisms, and the transformation of rules into algorithms for self-driving cars, and highlight the vehicle diagnostics context. The analysis is expected to demonstrate that the transformation of rules into algorithms alone is not sufficient for unhindered transport, as there is a strong need for the application of vehicle diagnostics to support and enhance obstacle and accident-free transport. The technological revolution in the field of self-driving vehicles calls for the development of common ground between technical sciences and law, which are trying to make the idea of safe and sustainable transport part of everyday life.

The study examines the countries of the Visegrad Group from the point of view of how widespread family-friendly working arrangements are in their labor market. The paper highlights that the labor market of the V4 countries in the past decade was characterized by continuous rise of employment rates. As the role of women in the labor market increases, employees have to face constant challenges in reconciling their professional and family obligations. However, flexible working arrangements that could help employees combine work and private life, are still not widespread in the V4 countries. The study primarily examines the proportion of part-time employees and remote workers of the Visegrad countries in the light of Eurostat data. The paper emphasizes the role of the governments, companies, and civil society in creating ideal workplaces for employees with family.

Energy Storage System (ESS) is a talented solution to overcome the intermittency (that they do not produce energy all the time) and demand-supply misalliance problems in different renewable energy systems. Selecting the most optimal ESS requires the consideration of different conflicting criteria under uncertainty. This study presents a novel Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) framework based on Complex Intuitionistic Fuzzy Rough Sets (CIFRSs) and Schweizer-Sklar aggregation operators to facilitate a more comprehensive and flexible ESS selection process. Specifically, we develop new aggregation operators namely, the Complex Intuitionistic Fuzzy Rough (CIFR) Schweizer-Sklar weighted average and the CIFR Schweizer-Sklar weighted geometric operators to model imprecise, vague, and inconsistent information. CIFR-MCDM methodology captures the intuitionistic, roughness and extra related fuzzy information in one structure. A case study is performed to illustrate the applicability of the suggested method in ranking different ESS alternatives. Comparative analysis with existing approaches confirms the robustness and effectiveness of the proposed framework in handling complex decision environments. The results highlight the potential of the CIFR-MCDM methodology to support informed and reliable ESS selection in renewable energy applications.

In the scope of this article, the design and testing of a water injection system applicable for a spark ignition engine are presented. Increasingly stringent emission standards within the framework of EURO7 require either directly or indirectly the internal combustion engines to be optimized across the entire field of an engine map, therefore they must comply with the emission standards at each operating point. The greatest challenge is expected to be the Lambda = 1 operation on the full field. The conversion efficiency of the exhaust gas after treatment systems is the highest at this point, therefore it is foreseeable that no deviation can be made. As a result, fuel enrichment for performance enhancement and to protect components against thermal load will not be tolerated, so the resulting thermal loads will need to be reduced in other ways. It is possible to reduce the excess thermal loads by using water injection. Evaporation of water in the intake system and combustion chamber takes off heat and the temperature of the contacting components and fluids decreases. The affected components include pistons, combustion chamber, cylinder head, exhaust valves, exhaust manifold, turbine wheel, turbine housing, and as a medium, the temperature of the intake air. Reducing the temperature of some components is important in the aspect of mechanical strength, while for some components the knock limit can be extended. This article presents the detailed design process and testing phase of a water injection system. An important aspect in system design is compatibility with different engine layouts in a cost-effective manner. Injector nozzle testing also includes analysis of mass flow, dispersion and spray pattern. The scope of the work is the implementation of a water injection system, which is capable of performing measurements in testbench environment at the Department of Internal Combustion Engines and Propulsion Technology of Széchenyi István University. The result of the measurements is the successful cylinder selective application of water injection to the intake system, whereby the addition of water reduces the temperature of the intake air and the exhaust gas, which can be reduced to standard calibration temperature in Lambda 1, without fuel enrichment.
