Enhancing sustainable performance through green human resource management: Green competencies building and green passion playing as a joint moderation

This study aims to investigate the moderating effect of green competencies building (GCB) and green passion (GP) on the relationship between green human resource management (GHRM) and sustainable performance (SP). Moreover, it aims to find out the joint moderating effect of GCB and GP on the relationship between GHRM and SP. An online survey was used to gather 410 samples from various manufacturing organizations in Bangladesh, and the data was analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). The study found that GCB and GP separately and jointly moderate the relationship between GHRM and SP. This study uniquely explores how green competencies and green passion, both individually and jointly, moderate the relationship between GHRM and sustainable performance.

HyMeKo Language: Describing Complex Hypergraph-Like Data

Numerous applications of computer science — including artificial intelligence, robotics, and cyber-physical systems — rely on highly connected data structures. Such complex information is most naturally and compactly described using a hypergraph-based approach, which enables concise representation of many-to-many relationships. In this paper, we introduce HyMeKo, a formal markup language designed to represent highly connected data based on hypergraph theory. Unlike traditional formats such as XML or JSON, HyMeKo offers a significantly more concise and semantically expressive way to model complex relationships by organizing data into a hypertree-based structure. The language supports template-based modeling and inheritance, enabling reusable, modular, and scalable data descriptions. HyMeKo is implemented as an LALR(1)-compliant language, allowing efficient parsing and transformation of structured data into hypergraphs. We provide a formal definition of the language, its supported operations, and relational rules, along with a comparative analysis demonstrating its syntactic efficiency. Application examples include robotic system descriptions, neural network architectures, and structured LLM prompts. We further present a structural complexity analysis showing that HyMeKo achieves a (k+1)-fold reduction in representational overhead compared to RDF reification for k-ary relationships, and provide an explicit comparison with RDF, OWL, and GraphQL. Reference implementations exist in both Python (PyLark) and Rust (LALRPOP).

Presenting Climate-related Disclosures in the Automotive Sector: Practical Possibilities and Limitations of Current Reporting Prototypes and Methods

The eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) digital reporting system presents the annual accounts and financial data in a standardized format, thus producing comparable reports. This study examines how new sustainability reporting requirements proposed by the recent International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS) S2 exposure draft could affect current reporting conditions of public listed European automotive manufacturers, from a taxonomical perspective. It was attempted the IFRS taxonomy to be linked with the ISSB's (International Sustainability Standards Board) proposed factors. Based on the changes in the regulatory environment and the existing digital reporting methodology, the paper proposed the inclusion of climate-related disclosure of automotive companies in the existing IFRS Taxonomy. In the taxonomical assessment, it was found that the recent sustainability reporting prototypes will likely affect certain financial statement sections, mostly the Notes to the financial statements. At present, there is no direct information available to investors and consumers on the environmental performance, which could be verified in the financial statements. There is no detailed emissions data that the company produces, as it is mainly the emissions compliance of the final product that is declared, especially in the automotive industry.

A numerical method for creating and reconstructing computer-generated holograms

The main purpose of this article is to develop a program package which generates artificial holograms by numerical methods and these computer generated holograms are numerically reconstructed. For the calculation of light propagation needed in the generation of holograms or in the reconstruction of the object from the hologram, we use two strategies. The first is the Fourier-based algorithm where the diffraction integral is approximated as a convolution integral, allowing computation using the fast Fourier transform algorithm. The second uses finite difference discretization to solve the parabolic wave equation. Numerical tests that assess the accuracy of these algorithms are presented. © 2012 American Institute of Physics.

Holistic Online Learning, in a Post COVID-19 World

In August of 2020, the United Nations reported that the COVID-19 pandemic had affected 1.6 billion learners, in more than 190 countries and on all continents [1]. The closing of schools and other learning spaces impacted an astonishing 94% of the world’s student population. These sudden school closures, at all levels, had the immediate and unprecedented effect of triggering a mass migration to emergency remote teaching. While mass vaccinations have enabled educational institutions to reopen and students to return to classrooms in the Fall of 2021, the educational disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic is far from over. Higher education must now permanently transition from reductionist, emergency remote learning systems to permanent, holistic online learning platforms. In order to better understand this transition, an online survey was delivered to diverse groups of international students attending Corvinus University and ESSCA School of Management, at the beginning and end of the Spring 2021 semester. The analysis of this survey, strongly indicates that the home and social environments of University, had a significant impact on the student’s learning aptitudes.

Laboratory Tests and FE Modeling of the Concrete Canvas, for Infrastructure Applications

The Concrete Canvas (CC) material, is a promising material for application in many civil engineering fields, such as, water construction, pipelining, slope protection, military applications, etc. The authors believe that this material has more potential and could be helpful in infrastructure applications. The infrastructure design requirements are known; the CC has to be fit into the track structure. Several relevant investigations were performed to show the materials adequacy, and using collected data, FE (Finite Element) models were built to determine more of the physical parameters. From the results and the hardening experiences, it can be stated, that after the laying of CC and the spraying of water, the material has to be loaded to reach the best shape and push the material down to the supporting protection layer. In FE modeling, it was shown that the material is a composite structure, i.e. one material's physical properties is not enough for modeling (it has to be improved). Moreover, it means that dynamic examinations can be initiated.

Return-to-Play Timeline and Recovery Predictors After COVID-19 Infection in Elite Football Players

The pandemic period significantly impacted professional football, leading to mandatory SARS-CoV-2 testing and quarantine. Our study aimed to examine the factors influencing time of recovery after a positive test, including return-to-training (RTT) and return-to-first-match (RTFM) of male football players in a first-division Hungarian team between 8 May 2020 and 30 June 2022. Infection was determined using mandatory RT-PCR testing 3 times per week, which later decreased to 1 to 2 times per week, in 55 elite players. A self-administered questionnaire was utilized based on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services symptom list and modified with relevant factors of return-to-play in football. The incidence of SARS-CoV-2-positive players in the three consecutive years was 5.26; 21.43 and 45.71%. Mild symptoms were present in test-positive players, completing the questionnaire (n = 31), predominantly loss of smell and dry cough. Post-infection fatigue levels correlated with the perceived performance decline. In players with precisely documented dates (n = 18), the average RTT was 18.7 days, while the RTFM was 67.3 days. Older players returned to training faster than their younger counterparts and the RT-PCR Ct number had a weak negative correlation with RTFM. Mental support was provided by family and friends in 68% of the players. This study highlights the variability in return-to-play timelines and the role of age, symptom severity and mental help in recovery and emphasizes the need for individualized rehabilitation in elite football.

Consumer Expenditure-Based Portfolio Optimization

This study examines whether portfolio optimization can be effectively based on annual changes in the harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) data. Specifically, we assess whether asset allocation based on consumer expenditure can generate superior returns compared to static or equal-weighted asset allocation. To explore this, we use consumer expenditure data from HICP statistics categorized by COICOP. Our findings indicate that this strategy outperforms a buy-and-hold benchmark by 13.32% in terms of the Sharpe Ratio and exceeds an annual equal-weighted rebalancing strategy by 3.11%. Additionally, both the Calmar and Sterling Ratios demonstrate improved performance, further reinforcing the robustness of this approach. Furthermore, a hypothetical scenario where sector weights from the end of the given year—though not yet available during the year—are used suggests even greater improvements in performance. A high-sample bootstrap simulation confirms that the observed performance differences are not random but reflect the independent effectiveness of asset allocation based on consumer expenditure trends. This result strengthens the validity of our backtesting findings, indicating that the examined strategy could generate excess returns compared to passive portfolio managment and fixed-weight rebalancing approaches. The result of the study is therefore the development of an effective portfolio rebalancing strategy.
