In this study the detailed One-at-a-Time sensitivity analysis of nonlinear massspring- damper systems is carried out with numerical simulation. The degree of sensitivity was measured with a sensitivity index and based on its sensitivity Fuzzy-sets were established. The sensitivity of a parameter then can be expressed by the membership to the Fuzzy-sets. In this study the root mean square of acceleration, the maximum amplitude of acceleration and the peak frequency were chosen as output variables to measure sensitivity. With this research it was proven, that the root mean square of acceleration and the peak frequency can be used for sensitivity study of nonlinear vibration systems effectively.

The environmental pollution potential of asbestos products is a worldwide health issue, but their dissemination through the water–soil continuum is often an overlooked aspect. Similarly, the behavior of asbestos fibers released from the products is still not fully understood, although our knowledge is based on studies concerning their mineralogical characteristics, health effects, and waste disposal. It has been claimed and contradicted that asbestos harm is only found in air and humans. Asbestos fibers are found not only in industrial settings but also through the industrial use of asbestos cement products, which has contributed to asbestos emissions and its movement in water and soil. Asbestos fibers are diverse in their physicochemical properties, and this diversity has a significant influence on their behavior in the environment. Recent research has confirmed that asbestos can be transported by water and spread to other parts of the environment. However, the mechanisms underlying this, such as the settling of fibers, their attachment to soil particles, or their movement in groundwater, as well as the environmental and health implications, require further investigation. This paper examines the process and impact of asbestos contamination in the interconnected water, soil, and plant environmental sectors, providing a systematic review of the latest literature.

Generative artificial intelligence is playing a significant role in the transformation of digital ecosystems by reinventing the processes of content generation, process automation, product innovation and customer experience. At the same time that these technologies are becoming more integrated into routine operations, the focus has shifted to the ethical and environmental consequences associated with their widespread application. An investigation of the operational sustainability associated with the generative artificial intelligence systems would be crucial, as it would provide information about how these systems match ideals such as efficiency, circularity and environmental responsibility. We explore how users understand and engage with sustainability principles, specifically lean, circular and green operational frameworks within generative artificial intelligence environments. We collect user reviews of 72 recently launched generative AI platforms from 2022 to 2024 and utilise advanced machine learning methods, including Word2Vec modelling, sentiment and regression analysis, to reveal how text datasets reflect customer perceptions. We find that the lean theme is the most prominent feature of operational sustainability, with the highest sentiment score, followed by the green and circular themes. Our findings show that there is a growing respect among the general public for artificial intelligence systems that exhibit responsible and efficient design.

This paper presents a design procedure of a switched-mode power converter, the well-known synchronous buck converter: The calculating method, and how to choose the parts of the converter are presented in detail, like the inductor, the capacitor and the semiconductors as well as the design of the state feedback. During the design process the efficiency and the high switching frequency are very important: The switching semiconductors are Gallium Nitride based. Then, a linear-quadratic regulator is designed and applied to the particular case of a buck converter.

The Efficacy of the Sensorimotor Training Program on Sensorimotor Development, Auditory and Visual Skills of Schoolchildren Aged 5–8 Years

Background: Around 800 million young children worldwide have cognitive-developmental limitations due to issues related to biological, environmental, and psychosocial factors. These problems lead to educational challenges, limited skill development, and higher unemployment rates. Therefore, timely interventions addressing the underlying problems in institutional settings are critically important. Objective: The authors created the “Sensorimotor Training Program” (STP) as a critical intervention to develop skills essential for starting school. This experimental study aimed to investigate the impact of the STP in an institutional setting, targeting the specific auditory and visual skills crucial for kindergarten and primary school learning. Methods: The STP comprises 120 training sessions focused on sensorimotor maturation. Seven hundred and seventy-two children aged 5–8 participated in the study, with 704 in the experimental and 68 in the control group, each containing a relatively balanced ratio of boys to girls. The study spanned six to eight months, with three to five weekly sessions. Results: The intervention resulted in significant improvements in sensorimotor development in the experimental compared to the control group [p <.001, effect size (d) =.483; auditory skills r =.605 p <.001, d =.366; visual skills r =.542, p <.001, d =.294]. The intervention group also improved compared to its baseline measurements. Conclusion: These results show that implementing the STP in school settings can improve sensorimotor development, impacting auditory and visual skills in children aged 5–8. These intervention-based improvements are above and beyond biological maturation.

The coronavirus outbreak at the end of 2019 can be cited as a trigger for several drastic consequences. In those years and since, the pandemic brought many changes for which the world was not prepared. The spread and increased prevalence of home-based work is one such consequence. The study of the relationship between working from home and well-being at work is one of the most researched areas in the field of economic psychology today. The main objective of this study was to investigate well-being at work in a Slovak sample and to explore its relationship with working from home. The research methodology was implemented in the form of an online questionnaire at the end of 2023. A total of 772 people participated in the survey. According to the research hypothesis, there is a significant correlation between the form of working from home and a higher average level of well-being at work. The results obtained confirmed the hypothesis that working from home has a positive impact on well-being at work. Furthermore, the results highlight the main risks of work from home in terms of 'home comfort' and 'work-life balance'. In conclusion, the research has shown both the advantages and disadvantages of working from home, and managers should strive to ensure that the well-being of employees is maximized in order to work effectively.

Concrete railway sleepers have been used for years without an update in production and design, to be compatible with demands for increasing train axle loads and speed. In the current research, concrete railway admixture is modified with consuming (0.5% straight-1.5% hooked), (1.5% straight-0.5% hooked) and (1% straight-1% hooked) steel fibers combinations. Three main mechanical experiments as compressive, flexural and splitting tensile strengths and fresh mortar “flowability” were performed. Results showed that the hybrid of 1% straight and 1% hooked steel fibers shows the optimal performance among other hybrid combinations. This hybrid admixture efficiently improves the compressive, flexural and splitting tensile strengths of the concrete railway sleeper mix design.
