Dynamics of entanglement after exceptional quantum quench

We investigate a quantum quench from a critical to an exceptional point. The initial state, prepared in the ground state of a critical Hermitian system, is time evolved with a non-Hermitian SSH model, tuned to its exceptional point. The single particle density matrix exhibits supersonic modes and multiple light cones, characteristic of non-Hermitian time evolution. These propagate with integer multiples of the original Fermi velocity. In the long time limit, the fermionic Green's function decays spatially as 1/x2, in sharp contrast to the usual 1/x decay of noninteracting fermions. The entanglement entropy is understood as if all these supersonic modes arise from independent quasiparticles (though they do not), traveling with the corresponding supersonic light cone velocity. The entropy production rate decreases with time and develops plateaus during the time evolution, signaling the distinct velocities in the propagation of nonlocal quantum correlations. At late times, the entanglement entropy saturates to a finite value, satisfying a volume law.

Chinese and Indian FDI in Hungary and the role of Eastern Opening policy

The aim of this paper is to assess the main features of Chinese and Indian investments in Hungary and the role of the Hungarian Government’s Eastern Opening policy in the attraction of investments from these two Asian giants. This paper covers the sectoral distribution, modes of market entry, and motivations of Chinese and Indian foreign direct investments. The automotive sector is the most attractive sector for investors from both countries. ICT manufacturing (electronics) and services, and the renewable energy sector are also very attractive for Chinese companies. The same is true for IT/BPO services and the chemical sector in the case of Indian companies. Chinese and Indian companies enter the Hungarian economy mainly through green-field investments or acquisitions. Market-seeking and strategic asset-seeking motives are dominant in the case of investors from both countries. This paper also puts a special emphasis on studying the impacts of Hungary’s Eastern Opening policy (launched in 2012) on Chinese and Indian investments. The findings show that the Eastern Opening policy has had a significant impact on the investment decision (location choice) of new Chinese and Indian investors and further expansion of investments by Chinese and Indian companies located in Hungary due to four factors, namely high-ranking political meetings, strategic cooperation agreements, cash grants from the Hungarian Government and supportive services of HIPA.

Contemporary research on electric vehicle (EV) consumption is predominantly focused on the vehicle’s powertrain and battery technology. However, the analyses indicate that the actual state of the various electrical subsystems in the vehicle can have a significant impact on the overall consumption figures. The primary objective of this article is to demonstrate the capabilities of our vehicle simulation model, which was developed with a particular focus on the electrical subsystems of vehicles, when employed in a 3D digital representation of a real environment. The central scientific contribution of this work is the systematic quantification of subsystem-level energy usage in real-world scenario simulation. This provides a novel framework for the evaluation of EV energy distribution, thereby informing future strategies and models.

The purpose of this paper is to present a comprehensive framework for the possibility of trademark protection for human faces. In the case law of the European Union Intellectual Property Office there are a few examples of trademarks, which consist of only photorealistic human faces. Private law protects the use of images; however, the trends of recent years demonstrate that trademarks could also have a role in such protection. The author aims to analyze the similarities and differences between trademark protection and personality rights in order to determine whether trademarks for faces are necessary or not. The over- arching analysis compares twelve aspects of the two ways in which the legal systems protect facial imagery, highlighting their various advantages and drawbacks. The comparison includes the following attributes: function of protection, scope of protection, territorial dimensions of protection, temporal dimensions of protection, conditions of protection, content of protection, limitations and exceptions, transferability of rights, enforcement of rights, requirement of use, termination of rights and costs.

The sustainable blue economy lays a strong emphasis on utilising ocean resources responsibly in order to enhance livelihoods, preserve ecosystem health, and grow the economy. Financial technology, or fintech, has emerged as a major enabler, offering creative ways to eliminate financial gaps, enhance monitoring, and more efficiently manage ocean resources. In this chapter discusses how fintech may stimulate sustainable growth in the blue economy by concentrating on key issues including transparent resource management, scalable investment mechanisms, and inclusive financial systems. This chapter presents a conceptual framework for addressing economic, environmental, and social issues by fusing sustainable marine practices with technological advancements like blockchain, artificial intelligence, and the internet of things. Fintech’s practical implications in advancing sustainability are demonstrated through in-depth case studies, such as blockchain for Indonesian fisheries and crowdfunding for the restoration of coral reefs in the Caribbean. It also focuses on practical policy recommendations for incorporating fintech into nationally and globally blue economy strategies, like developing regulatory framework and strengthening cross-sector collaborations. The chapter concludes by highlighting fintech’s critical role in promoting sustainability, inclusion, and resilience in ocean-based economies, widening up opportunities for the accomplishment of more general sustainable development goals.

Identification of ovine-associated staphylococci by MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry

The objective of this study was to use matrix-assisted laser desorption ionisation–time of flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) for the identification of ovine-associated staphylococci. Presumptive Staphylococcus isolates were recovered from ovine udder surface (US), individual raw milk, bulk tank milk, and cheese samples and were characterised by conventional phenotypic methods. A total of 69 bacterial isolates were further confirmed by MALDI-TOF MS. Forty-two (60.9%) of 69 isolates were successfully identified on genus and species level. Two thirds (n 5 28) of the 42 identified isolates were shown to be Staphylococcus spp. These 28 staphylococcal isolates formed two clusters, one consisting of 22 Staphylococcus aureus strains and the other composed of 6 non-aureus staphylococci, including S. simulans (n 5 3), S. auricularis, S. equorum, and S. haemolyticus. MALDI-TOF MS has proven to be a reliable tool for the identification of staphylococci from raw sheep’s milk, especially bulk tank milk; however, currently it appears to be less useful for the identification of bacterial isolates originating from ovine US samples. This is the first study to evaluate the applicability of MALDI-TOF MS for identification of Staphylococcus spp. in ovine raw milk, cheese, and US samples in Hungary.

CSR and workplace autonomy as enablers of workplace innovation in SMEs through employees: Extending the boundary conditions of self-determination theory

The current business environment characterized by high uncertainty, volatility, and stiff situation of competitiveness that is evident in almost every sector has increased the importance of workplace innovation for contemporary businesses. In this regard, a considerable attention in realizing employees of an organization as a source of innovation is not evident from the existing literature. In this aspect, the current study is an attempt to foster workplace innovation through employees in the SME sector of an emerging economy. In doing so, the authors propose that corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives of an SME, along with workplace autonomy, are helpful in creating an environment at the workplace that fosters innovative employee behavior (IEB). Furthermore, the current study also extends the boundary condition of the theory of self-determination by arguing that this theory provides a comprehensive framework to explain employees’ motivation for workplace innovation. The data of the current survey was obtained from the SME sector situated in two large cities of a developing country through a self-administered questionnaire which was then analyzed through structural-equation-modeling (SEM) using the AMOS software. The results confirmed that CSR directly relates to IEB and workplace autonomy mediates this relationship. The study also discusses the implications of this survey for theory and practice.

Lightweight Solution to Generate Accurate Lanelet Maps †

As automated driving technologies become more mature, there is an increasing reliance on digital maps to support safe and efficient driving. Sensors like cameras and radars can be limited by occlusions, lighting conditions, or weather, and often fall short. High-definition (HD) maps offer excellent accuracy, but they are expensive to produce. These limitations make these techniques impractical for large-scale deployment. What makes our approach particularly attractive is its hardware simplicity: the entire process requires only a precise GNSS receiver and a commonly available lane detection camera, eliminating the need for expensive sensors like LiDAR or complex multi-vehicle fleets. We rigorously evaluated our method in a highway environment, where a vehicle equipped with our generated maps successfully executed autonomous lane following and adapted its speed based on detected speed limit signs. The positional deviation of the resulting maps was consistently under 5 cm.

A review of the Digital Twin technology for fault detection in buildings

This study aims to evaluate the utilization of technology known as Digital Twin for fault detection in buildings. The strategy consisted of studying existing applications, difficulties, and possibilities that come with it. The Digital Twin technology is one of the most intriguing newly discovered technologies rapidly evolving; however, some problems still need to be addressed. First, using Digital Twins to detect building faults to prevent future failures and cutting overall costs by improving building maintenance is still ambiguous. Second, how Digital Twin technology may be applied to discover inefficiencies inside the building to optimize energy usage is not well defined. To address these issues, we reviewed 326 documents related to Digital Twin, BIM, and fault detection in civil engineering. Then out of the 326 documents, we reviewed 115 documents related to Digital Twin for fault detection in detail. This study used a qualitative assessment to uncover Digital Twin technology’s full fault detection capabilities. Our research concludes that Digital Twins need more development in areas such as scanner hardware and software, detection and prediction algorithms, modeling, and twinning programs before they will be convincing enough for fault detection and prediction. In addition, more building owners, architects, and engineers need substantial financial incentives to invest in condition monitoring before many of the strategies discussed in the reviewed papers will be used in the construction industry. For future investigation, more research needs to be devoted to exploring how machine learning may be integrated with other Digital Twin components to develop new fault detection methods.
