The improvement of an existing fuzzy logic rule base for the treatment and simulation of conflicts in the dispositional tasks of a railway traffic control center

Publication Name: Proceedings 2009 3rd International Workshop on Soft Computing Applications Sofa 2009

Publication Date: 2009-11-25

Volume: Unknown

Issue: Unknown

Page Range: 203-207

Description:

The paper considers a railway timetable related problem in a simplified form, generated by the delay of one or several incoming trains at a given station. These incoming train delays are either automatically generated or manually entered. Usually there are connecting trains in the timetable, especially in up to date periodic timetables and thus incoming delays might indicate the necessity of introducing a delay with connecting outgoing trains. A hierarchical fuzzy rule base is applied in order to determine the optimal outgoing delay, taking also usual restrictions into consideration. The delays of the incoming trains are modeled by independent exponential distributions and a software simulation is built around the existing rule base. The behavior of the hierarchical fuzzy rule base and the pertinence of the outgoing delay is a subject of further investigation. The delays are also updated periodically that makes the recalculation of outgoing delays necessary from time to time. 1 © 2009 IEEE.

Displacement measurement by digital holographic interferometry

No authors available

Publication Name: Proceedings of the 13th International Conference on Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering Computing

Publication Date: 2011-12-01

Volume:

Issue:

Page Range: Unknown

Description:

Digital holographic interferometry is a useful technique for measuring the deformation or displacement of the surface of an object by recording at least two speckle patterns, one before and one after the object is deformed. Holographic interferometry utilizes interference between the speckled image of an object illuminated by a laser and a reference beam derived from the same laser. Any change in the shape of the object results in local changes in the intensity distribution in the holographic fringe pattern. The holograms are generated directly on a charge coupled device (CCD) target and stored electronically. The speckle patterns can be taken quickly and analyzed using holographic interferometry and the Fourier transform method. © Civil-Comp Press, 2011.

Optimal design of extrusion dies in metal forming using the finite element method

No authors available

Publication Name: Proceedings of the 13th International Conference on Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering Computing

Publication Date: 2011-12-01

Volume:

Issue:

Page Range: Unknown

Description:

In this paper, a method for calculation of the optimal shapes of axisymmetrical converging dies using the finite element method is presented. The shape optimization problem considered in this paper is to find the best shape of the die such that the flow rate will be uniform at the die exit. The optimization problem is to minimize an objective function by varying a part of boundary (ie: the shape of die) subject to constraints imposed by the metal forming problem. In this method, B-spline functions allow us to determine the shape of the die, using its control points as design variables. © Civil-Comp Press, 2011.

Optimizing the Performance of the Iptables Stateful NAT44 Solution

Publication Name: Infocommunications Journal

Publication Date: 2023-01-01

Volume: 15

Issue: 1

Page Range: 55-63

Description:

—The stateful NAT44 performance of iptables is an important issue when it is used as a stateful NAT44 gateway of a CGN (Carrier-Grade NAT) system. The performance measurements of iptables published in research papers do not comply with the requirements of RFC 2544 and RFC 4814 and the usability of their results has serious limitations. Our Internet Draft has proposed a benchmarking methodology for stateful NATxy (x, y are in {4, 6}) gateways and made it possible to perform the classic RFC 2544 measurement procedures like throughput, latency, frame loss rate, etc. with stateful NATxy gateways using RFC 4814 pseudorandom port numbers. It has also defined new performance metrics specific to stateful testing to quantify the connection setup and connection tear down performance of stateful NATxy gateways. In our current paper, we examine how the performance of iptables depends on various settings, and also if certain tradeoffs exist. We measure the maximum connection establishment rate, throughput and tear down rate of iptables as well as its memory consumption as a function of hash table size always using 40 million connections. We disclose all measurement details and results. We recommend new settings that enable network operators to achieve significantly higher performance than using the traditional ones.

Status of Agricultural Irrigation in Hungary

Publication Name: Bio Web of Conferences

Publication Date: 2024-08-23

Volume: 125

Issue: Unknown

Page Range: Unknown

Description:

Some prediction models indicate climate change will have a more pronounced impact on Hungary than previously anticipated. Traditionally, Hungarian agriculture is based on dryland farming, with irrigated farming practiced in a few areas. Land degradation is a significant concern. However, the loss of arable land due to water scarcity could be more widespread. One potential solution is to irrigate, which could maintain soil fertility for decades. Utilizing modern irrigation techniques is a crucial approach to making irrigation as sustainable as possible while ensuring yield and quality. This study aims to provide an authentic picture of irrigation in Hungary, past and present. It also aims to provide suggestions for the near future, drawing on examples from abroad.

Parameter Sensitivity Analysis Method for Speed Sensorless Induction Machine Drives Based on Unscented Kalman Filter

Publication Name: Proceedings 2018 IEEE 18th International Conference on Power Electronics and Motion Control Pemc 2018

Publication Date: 2018-11-03

Volume: Unknown

Issue: Unknown

Page Range: 744-749

Description:

This paper presents a new method for determining the steady-state machine parameter sensitivities of induction machine speed sensorless control algorithms, which are utilizing unscented Kalman filter (UKF) and direct rotor field oriented control (DRFOC). Sensitivity influence of the UKF is investigated by alternative noise parameters and pointed out that selection of noise parameters may influence the flux and torque sensitivities of the entire system with respect to stator resistance variations. In order to obtain a better picture, the sensitivities are calculated for various operating points resulting in sensitivity maps. For this, a computationally efficient calculation method is applied by using the steady-state system equations.

Two-stage racetrack segmentation method using color feature filtering and superpixel-based convolutional neural network

Publication Name: Saci 2018 IEEE 12th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics Proceedings

Publication Date: 2018-08-20

Volume: Unknown

Issue: Unknown

Page Range: 131-135

Description:

The Széchenyi István University race car team is an active and successful participant of the Shell Eco-marathon for long time ago. The Shell introduces the autonomous vehicle category on the Eco-marathon for 2018. Our long-term goal is to make the Szenergy racing team's vehicle suitable for the autonomous category. The first milestone is to make a reliable computer vision based intelligent detection system that understands the environment of the racing car. In this paper we will present a solution for racetrack detection i.e. a fusion of image processing and neural network systems. The two-stage recognition system is at the first phase an image processing algorithm which finds the red-white and blue-white striped edge of the road, and at the second phase, a pre-trained superpixel-based neural network which recognize the road on the filtered image.
