Numerical simulation of boundary value radiative tri-hybrid nanofluid flow subject to exponential heat source/sink past a porous stretching surface

The energy and mass transference through ternary nanofluid (TNF) over a stretching spinning sheet is estimated in the present study. The TNF has been prepared by the distribution of magnesium oxide (MgO), titanium dioxide (TiO2), and cobalt ferrite (CoFe2O4) nanoparticles (NPs) in water. The study of the TNF over a rotating stretching sheet can be directly used in optimizing the performance of solar thermal collector, high-power electronics cooling, and aerospace heat shields. Such flow has a vital role in the optimization of lubrication processes and nuclear reactor cooling in which high thermal conductivity and centrifugal flow manipulation is needed. The TNF flow has been calculated under the consequence of mixed convection, thermal radiation, constant and exponential heat source/sink, magnetic field, and porous medium. The flow scenario is mathematically stated in the form of a nonlinear system of PDEs (partial differential equations). The set of PDEs is transfigured into the non-dimensional system of ODEs (ordinary differential equations), by means of the similarity variables. The results are obtained through the bvp4c code (Matlab built-in package). The percent error between present and published study at Pr =5.0 is 0.0034541%, which ensure the accuracy of the proposed model and applied methodology. The energy transfer rate drops by up to 20.4049%, 25.5465% and 32.4766% by varying the exponential heat source/sink factor from -1.0 t0 1.0 in case of nano, hybrid and ternary nanofluid respectively. The transfer rate enhances up to 52.7911% and 51.2236% by varying heat radiation and Dufour number from 1.0 to 3.0 and 1.5 to 3.5 in case of THNF, respectively.

Study of the TP transformation via the inverted pendulum example

This study decribes the Tensor Product (TP) based model construction through the nonlinear dynamic system of the inverted pendulum. It presents the steps of TP modeling, various weighting functions and the Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) based approach. LMI control has been used to stabilize the nonlinear system. This study shows the quasi-Linear Parameter-Varying (qLPV) state-space modeling and the Higher-Order Singular Value Decomposition (HOSVD) based TP model transformation. Some research in this issue already exists, but only the furuta, rotary, single and parallel-type double pendulum have been examined. In this paper the TP model transformation of the inverted pendulum is analyzed in terms of stability.

REGIONAL DISPARITIES AND DUAL DYNAMICS: ECONOMIC GROWTH AND INCOME INEQUALITY IN KAZAKHSTAN

This study examines the complex relationships between economic growth and income inequality in different regions of Kazakhstan, revealing the nuances of their interaction. The article aims to assess the long-term and short-term effects of economic growth on income inequality in both forward and reverse directions across the regions of Kazakhstan. Employing region-specific time series data allowed us to examine the bidirectional impact of economic growth on inequality, using an error correction model (ECM) to describe short-run and long-run relationships. The results highlight that the relationship between economic growth and income inequality is heterogeneous across regions, reflecting each area's unique economic and social landscapes. The estimation results support the hypothesis of an inverted U-shaped Kuznets curve linking GRP per capita to inequality with varying starting points for different regions. Regarding the inverse relationship, we identified a positive causal relationship for the West Kazakhstan, Zhambyl and Pavlodar regions, indicating that increased income inequality stimulated economic growth. The study also highlights the significant role of trade, labour force, investment and government consumption in shaping these relationships.

Driving circular financial performance and circular economic value added: Insights from institutional pressures and dynamic circular reconfiguration

Moving towards a circular economy needs development of digital platforms and organizational capabilities for innovation, reconfiguration and capture for sustainable value. This study enquires the influence of institutional pressures (namely coercive, normative, and mimetic) on the circular performance of firms, resulting in better ecosystem innovation synergy as well as dynamic circular reconfiguration, circular value capture and circular financial performance. The goal of this study is to develop a theory-based model that links institutional theory, dynamic capabilities, and circular economy with circular economic value added. The data comprises 207 valid responses collected from companies in the logistics and supply chain sector. SmartPLS 4 is used to analyze data. The three institutional pressures have a significant impact on the circular economy capabilities. Coercive pressure and normative pressure influence ecosystem innovation synergy while mimetic pressure predicts dynamic circular reconfiguration. Moreover, dynamic circular reconfiguration is associated with measurable improvements in cost efficiency and revenue generation, thereby strengthening circular financial performance and circular economic value added. The study reveals that circular value capture has a significant impact on circular economic value added. The data indicates that ecosystem innovation synergy does not have a significant effect on circular value capture or circular financial performance. Ecosystem collaboration does not produce changes in firm economic performance unless it brings about internal reconfiguration. The findings suggest that both dynamic circular reconfiguration and circular performance became significant for circular economic value added in the context of circular finance. The routes of ecosystem innovation synergy and circular value capture, by their nature, are not sources of pressure. The findings enhance the understanding of how institutional pressures and potential capabilities enabled by digital platforms facilitate the transition to the circular economy. This paper finally provides theoretical and managerial insights for achieving sustainable value creation.

Propagation of Laser-Driven Electromagnetic Pulses in Laser Target Areas

During high intense laser target interaction a strong electromagnetic pulse (EMP) is generated which can potentially disturb the well performing of the experiment. The electromagnetic interference (EMI) due to the EMP not only affects devices present in the vacuum chamber but also in the target area where it may compromise the performance or operation of electronics and device controllers.In this work we report the measurements of EMP inside the laser target area at Centro de Laseres Pulsados (CLPU) during high intense laser-target interaction experiments. The experimental results show how the amplitude and spectrum of the EMP in the target area is different from the one inside the target chamber (TC). At last Finite element method (FEM) simulation results are shown and compared with experimental results.

Health professionals’ knowledge of probiotics: An international survey

The objective of this study was to survey health professionals to investigate their knowledge of probiotics. An online survey was conducted to gather data on the knowledge of health professionals. The online survey was distributed via email and social media platforms using snowball sampling. A total of 1066 health professionals (859; 80.6% female) from 30 countries responded to the survey. Most of the respondents evaluated their knowledge of probiotics as medium (36.4%) or good (36.2%). Only 8.9% of the respondents rated it as excellent. No statistical difference in knowledge was found between male and female health professionals. Over 80% of pharmacists, allied health professionals, medical doctors and dentists, and other health professionals knew the correct definition of probiotics as “live microorganisms that, when administered in adequate amounts, confer a health benefit on the host”, whereas three quarters of registered nurses and midwives and less than two thirds of psychologists identified the correct definition. Statistically, more female than male health professionals knew the correct definition of probiotics. The most frequently recognized species of bacteria containing probiotic strains were Lactobacillus acidophilus (92%), Bifidobacterium bifidum (82%), and Lactobacillus rhamnosus (62%). The opinions on when it is best to take probiotics were different (χ2 = 28.375; p < 0.001), with 90.2% of respondents identifying that probiotics have beneficial effects if taken during antibiotic therapy, 83.5% for diarrhea, 70.6% for constipation, 63.3% before traveling abroad, and 60.4% for treating allergies. Almost 79% of health professionals involved in this study have advised their patients to use probiotics and 57.5% of the respondents wanted to learn more about probiotics. All things considered, health professionals have a medium level of knowledge of probiotics, which could be improved by the implementation of targeted learning programs. As probiotics have many beneficial effects in a wide range of health areas, health professionals need to adopt the use of probiotics in clinical practice.

Sustainable forest landscape, digitalization, and green energy are the core pillars of the European Union's policies to achieve sustainable growth; however, their impacts are divergent due to variant regional forest management policies, economic structures, and digital transformation. This study contributes to the literature by uniquely evaluating the asymmetric impacts of forest access, green energy, and digitalization on sustainable growth across the EU countries from 1991 to 2022. It introduces the moderating role of digitalization on forest access, a dimension that has been unexplored previously. This analysis employs the method of moments quantile regression (MMQR) to address the slope heterogeneity and cross-sectional problems. The outcomes exhibit that green energy and digitalization are the drivers of sustainable growth, while their effects are pronounced at higher and lower growth quantiles, respectively. In contrast, forest access inhibits economic sustainability, with larger impacts realized in high-growth economies. The interaction term indicates that the applications of digital technologies in the forest landscape significantly support sustainable growth. The robustness analysis confirms the consistency of regression outcomes. These insights offer novel implications for EU climate and digital policy integration under the Green Deal and REPower EU agenda.

Social integration of internally displaced persons in Ukraine: Problems and challenges for governing local communities

This study aims to evaluate social integration and obstacles for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in local communities for further improvement of governing local communities regarding the integration of IDPs in new surroundings. The expert sample included 38 representatives of relevant authorities, scientists, NGOs, and volunteer organizations from 11 Ukrainian regions. The survey was conducted using the online questionnaire method via Google Forms. The results show the low participation of IDPs in most political and civil activities in new communities. The level of social integration according to these criteria is, respectively, 3.0 and 3.2 points out of 6 possible. At the same time, the level of economic integration (3.7 points) and integration into cultural and sports initiatives (3.6 points) are comparatively high, which are a feature illustrating the readiness to be involved in some kinds of activities in a new community. A significant result is also the fact that according to most signs of social integration, in the evaluations of experts, there are assessments of the activity of IDPs at a level that exceeds the activity of residents (6 points). Such results indicate the existence of a resource for developing communities due to the use of the potential of IDPs. This is especially characteristic of activities in counteraction to russian aggression, involvement in grant and project activities, search for opportunities for legal income, and support of social justice principles in labor relations.
