Information management and the organizational structure can contribute to the firms' competitive advantage and business success. In the first part of our study we summarize the results we obtained by analyzing the corporate governance system in connection with the structure of enterprises and their decision making. Then we have an insight into the leadership style of the suppliers from the point of view of the participation of the staff in decision making. In the second part we analyze the information management of the supplier companies on the basis of the answers from the management. We evaluate the strategic and the operational concept of information management, proceeding from the strategy-making activity. The accomplishment of permanent renewal and willingness to innovate are both indispensable for achieving elasticity in organizations. We explore how the suppliers introduce innovation in connection with the firm structure and the information system. Finally, we consider how some essential company characteristics, namely company size, ownership, region, and the width of the product assortment, affect various company functions.

Application of the QFD Technique Method in Logistics Strategy

One of the most significant corporate challenges today is to meet customer expectations. In order for customer satisfaction to be achieved, it is necessary to review the entire corporate system and related processes and coordinate the various corporate strategies. In the recent past, it was widely regarded as sufficient by managers to develop the right marketing strategy in order to sell a product. However, there is currently a discussion as to whether a marketing logistics strategy as a well-designed logistics environment is needed to sell the product and thereby gain customer satisfaction. In this article, we present the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) technique, an effective tool for transforming consumer needs into technical, quality characteristics. The method of QFD technique can also be successfully applied in the field of logistics. Utilizing it ensures the possibility of examining the impact of the sub-areas and processes of marketing and logistics services on the basis of customer needs. In addition, visual control can be used to illustrate that whilst two products require the same logistics strategy, lead times already cause significant differences in the interaction of logistics processes and technological parameters. The analysis also highlights the shortcomings of the logistics environment, thereby supporting the decision-making of the company management in both marketing and logistics strategy planning.

Spatial and Heterogeneity Analysis of Environmental Taxes’ Impact on China’s Green Economy Development: A Sustainable Development Perspective

Environmental taxation is an important tool used by governments to promote resource conservation and environmental protection. Given the current global constraints on resources and increasing environmental degradation, exploring how environmental taxes can effectively stimulate the development of a green economy is of utmost importance. This study utilized panel data from 30 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities in China, covering the period from 2006 to 2020. The research findings indicate a spatial correlation between environmental taxes and green economic efficiency in China, with the former significantly promoting the development of the latter. A heterogeneity analysis revealed varying impacts of different taxes on the efficiency of green economic development in different regions. Controlling for variables, the study results demonstrated a negative correlation between industrial structure and green economic efficiency, with a significance level of 1%. Additionally, no correlation was found between pollution control efforts and green economic benefits. The effects of different taxes on regional efficiency varied, and industrial structure exhibited a negative correlation with green economic efficiency. This study recommends strengthening intergovernmental coordination, improving tax policies, optimizing industrial structure, and enhancing the pollution control efficiency of local governments to promote China’s green economy.

In the Hungarian education system, dividing children into separate groups on the basis of native language skills was first initiated in 1580 by school rector, pedagogue and evangelical priest, Pál Halvepápius, in Besztercebánya (Rosenauer, 1876). However, the foundations of speech communication have been a major interest even before that. Jesuit priest Pelbárt Temesvári (b.1435–d.1504) explored the anatomy and physiology of speech impediments in the sixteenth century and the history of the subject has remained very active ever since (Albert Szenczi Molnár, b.1574–d.1634, see Szenczi Molnár, 1610/1969; Farkas Kempelen (also known as Wolfgang von Kempelen), b.1734–d.1804, see Kempelen; 1791/1989).

THE IMPACT OF TRANSPORT ROUTES ON KAZAKHSTAN’S AGRO-INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX CONSIDERING ESG APPROACHES

This study aims to investigate the relationship between environmental sustainability, social development, and governance within Kazakhstan’s agro-industrial complex. The paper applies econometric modeling and statistical analysis to assess these relationships and provide strategic recommendations for sustainable development. A dataset from 2013 to 2023, sourced from the Bureau of National Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was utilized to assess the influence of transit routes and agriculture on ESG performance. Principal component analysis (PCA) and regression modeling identified three key components – environmental (84.3%), social (98.4%), and governance (88.33%) – as significant contributors to ESG variability. The results demonstrate that transit flows positively affect environmental and governance indicators (β = 0.266, p = 0.050), while agro-industrial activity has mixed effects: improved social sustainability but increased environmental pressure. The combined impact of transit corridors and the agro-industrial complex provides a more comprehensive explanation of ESG variability (R2 = 0.998), reinforcing the need for integrated policy approaches. The findings highlight the strategic importance of aligning transit infrastructure and agro-industrial development with ESG frameworks. This paper contributes to the discourse on sustainable development by offering practical insights for policymakers on optimizing logistics and agricultural strategies to promote ESG adoption, particularly in agriculture-dependent economies.

Combined benefits of fermented washed rice water and NPK mineral fertilizer on plant growth and soil fertility over three field planting cycles

Washed rice water (WRW) is the leftover water after washing rice grains and is usually discarded. However, WRW contains nutrients leached from rice, making it a potential plant fertilizer. Reusing WRW promotes better water governance, particularly in the face of increased freshwater needs due to population expansion and climate change. Recent experiments in rain shelters have demonstrated the advantages of using WRW as fertilizer. Building on this, our study assessed WRW's efficacy in an open field against NPK fertilizer, both individually and in combination. The treatments were: R3 (3-day fermented WRW), N1 (full recommended NPK rate), N0.5R3 (half NPK rate and R3), and CON (tap water only). These treatments were tested over three consecutive planting cycles of choy sum (Brassica chinensis var. parachinensis) vegetable. At the end of each planting cycle, measurements were taken for the plant's growth, nutrient content and uptake, as well as various soil chemical properties and bacterial population. Plants were watered daily with 5 mm WRW (R3 and N0.5R3) or tap water (N1 and CON). N0.5R3 showed the best results in terms of plant growth, nutrient content, uptake, and soil nutrient levels. N0.5R3 supplied the most nutrients, especially N, P, and K. Increased plant growth also led to increased plant uptake of nutrients, including micronutrients. Macronutrients had a greater impact on plant biomass than micronutrients, as R3 and N1 had similar results. R3 soils had higher bacterial populations but were more acidic than N1 soils. The negative effect of NPK on bacteria was partially offset by combining NPK with WRW as N0.5R3. No carryover effects were observed, likely because of the high nutrient leaching from heavy rains. These findings confirm WRW's is an effective fertilizer in open fields, but measures like surface mulching are crucial to minimize nutrient leaching prior to its use.

Modelling of junctions is one of the most challenging tasks in vibroacoustics, especially for Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA), where the results heavily depend on the damping (DLF) and coupling loss factors (CLF). Also, it is an interesting question to determine that to what extent does the DLF or CLF contribute to the overall vibroacoustic characteristics of a structure? The aim of this paper is to investigate via measurements and SEA simulations the effect of the ratio of DLF and CLF on the response of a system for various junctions, such as riveting, bolting, line and point welding, between two steel plates. Loss matrices are determined experimentally by the Power Injection Method in the 200-1600 Hz frequency range. The simulation was performed in the ESI VA One software by using its analytical CLF formulations and compared to experimental data. For the reference case, a bended plate structure was considered, representing an ideal junction between two subsystems. This was equipped with damping foils to ensure the same weight and then compared to the results from other joints. Results showed that increasing the CLF could be more effective than focusing on increasing the DLF.

The regional and geographical aspects of food security: A spatial analysis in the case of Azerbaijan, Hungary, Austria, Singapore and Georgia

Achieving food security is crucial, and a primary development goal world-wide. However, there is a difficulty in finding reliable data on the topic, which raised a problem for policymakers and researchers as well. Therefore, the present study aimed to fill in this gap by examining the dynamics of regional food security. The main research objective was to identify the determinants of food security in Azerbaijan, Singapore, Austria, Georgia and Hungary. Furthermore, a specific objective was to investigate the short- and long-term impacts of both endogenous and exogenous shocks on the food security of the selected countries. The study collected large scale panel dataset between 1992 and 2019. The empirical model suggested that food import, foreign direct investment, inflation, annual per capita income and Human Development Index had a positive, while the flow of food export had an adverse impact on the food security status of the selected countries. The study recommended to the governments of selected countries and to developmental organisations to achieve national food security through indigenous agricultural interventions along with supporting domestic growers by investing in agricultural education, skill development and infrastructure programs.

Mirages and Illusions: The Prospects of Hungarian Imperial Ambitions during the Era of Dualism (1867–1918)

Although the Hungarian political elite recognized that it is the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy which provided the country with a position of great power, from the 1890 s onwards there was a noticeable increase in independent Hungarian expansionist efforts. Among the complex reasons for this were the results of the Hungarian state’s modernization program, the economic development, and the emergence of a new elite of officials and politicians who had been socialised in the institutional system of Dualism, were au fait with the system, and were able to use it. The strengthening of Hungarian positions and the search for opportunities to assert the country’s interests within the common institutional system of Austria-Hungary, a series of economic policy measures, efforts to gain ground economically, mainly in the south-east, and, to a certain extent and in certain points, the goal of creating a Hungarian nation state emerged as means of achieving expansionist goals. Although the political elite could rightly feel that the country’s room for manoeuvre, weight, and ability to assert its interests within the Monarchy had increased, giving rise to a certain optimism, this proved to be a kind of optical illusion. It is true that Hungary’s clout within the Monarchy had increased, but the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy was steadily losing its importance compared to the other great powers, so the Hungarian elite could formulate its ambitious goals as a strengthening element of a weakening Empire.
