Since autonomous vehicles (AV) are in the testing process, it is an open question of how pedestrians will communicate with self-driving cars. Nowadays, explicit communication pattern is the main way of pedestrian-driver interaction, however, AV may use implicit communication when making crossing decisions. This study aims to analyze pedestrians’ gaze behavior when crossing the road using an eye camera and find the most applicable location for the LED interface on AVs. 10 pedestrian crossings in Gyor, Hungary were analyzed using the synchronized eye-tracking (ET) technology and regular video cameras for combined data processing. The data were analyzed using digital image processing techniques and statistical methods to identify where pedestrians looked and whether a pedestrian-driver interaction was captured during the crossing maneuver.

Dimensions of traumatized social consciousness Data for the theory of wounded collective identity

In our study, we present the results of testing the regional interpretation model of wounded collective identity for East-Central Europe developed by András Máté-Tóth. First, we summarize the essence of the theory and identify the elements along which the theory can be tested, focusing mainly on the emotional aspects. In the second step, we analyze our model on the basis of empirical data retrieved by TÁRKI in 2020. Our results show that the elements of the wounded collective identity are significantly correlated with each other, thus validating the theoretical hypothesis.

Evaluation of the aggregation capability of the mpt network layer multipath communication library and multipath TCP

Multipath communication techniques can bring in a new era for Cognitive Infocommunication, due to ensuring resilient and high-speed data transfer. In this paper, we evaluated the MPT network layer multipath communication library, which creates an UDP tunnel, based on the GRE in UDP tunnel protocol. We compared the aggregation capability of MPT to that of MPTCP, which stands for Multi-Path TCP and based on TCP sub-flows to aggregate the transmission capacities of different physical interfaces and their potentially disjoint paths to ensure high network throughput. In this article, we used 100 Mbps and 1 Gbps speed channels to compare the aggregation capabilities of these two different multipath communication solutions. We used several scenarios for the evaluation. We tested both IPv4 and IPv6 both as underlying and as encapsulation protocols. We used several channels up to 12 to evaluate the aggregation capabilities with the industry standard iperf tool, even with different numbers of iperf threads. Meanwhile we measured the CPU usage of the two examined multipath technologies to get further insight into their operation. On the basis of our measurement results, we also set up a mathematical model of their channel aggregation capabilities.

When the exact mathematical model is not known or too difficult to handle, fuzzy signatures are useful tools in modeling and analysis of complex systems. In these cases the input values naturally have uncertainties, due to lack of knowledge or human activities. These built-in uncertainties influence the final decision about the system. In this paper we deal with the issue when the input parameters are not crisp values, but nonnegative fuzzy numbers, so we discuss the sensitivity of type-2 fuzzy signatures which are equipped with the weighted general mean as aggregation operator. The uncertainty of the result depends on the applied extension of real function to fuzzy numbers, so we discuss the case of Zadeh's extension principle, t-norm based extension and joint possibility distribution based extension of real functions, too.

Naringin is a flavonoid found primarily in citrus species with especially high concentrations being present in grapefruit (Citrus paradisi), bitter orange (Citrus aurantium), and pomelo (Citrus grandis). Because of its many positive effects on human health, naringin has been the focus of increasing attention in recent years. Recently, conventional extraction methods have been commonly replaced with unconventional methods, such as ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) and other, more eco-friendly extraction methods requiring little-to-no environmentally harmful solvents or significantly less energy. Naringin analysis is most commonly done via high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and ultrahigh-performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC) coupled with a mass spectrometer (MS) or a photodiode array (DAD) detector. The aim of this review is to provide an overview of recent trends developments in the extraction, sample preparation, and liquid chromatographic analysis of the compound originating from citrus fruits or their products.

Randomized controlled resistance training based physical activity trial for central European nursing home residing older adults

Background: Nursing home residing older adults often experience fear of sickness or death, functional impairment and pain. It is diffcult for these older adults to maintain a physically active lifestyle and to keep a positive outlook on life. This study evaluated the changes in quality of life, attitude to aging, assertiveness, physical ftness and body composition of nursing home residing elderly through a 15-week organized resistance training based physical activity program. METHODS: Inactive older adults living in a state fnanced nursing home (N.=45) were randomly divided into two intervention groups and a control group. Both intervention groups were assigned to two physical activity sessions a week, but one of these groups also had weekly discussions on health and quality of life (Mental group). Data on anthropometric measures, ftness performance, as well as quality of life and attitudes to aging survey data were collected. due to low attendance rate 12 subjects were excluded from the analyses. Statistical analysis included paired Samples t-tests and repeated Measures analysis of Variance. RESULTS: Both intervention groups signifcantly improved their social participation, and their upper-and lower-body strength scores. Also, subjects in the Mental group showed improvement in agility ftness test and certain survey scales. No positive changes were detected in attitude towards aging and body composition measures in any groups. The post-hoc results suggest that Mental group improved signifcantly more than the control group. coNcluSioNS: regular physical activity with discussions on health and quality of life made a more meaningful difference for the older adults living in nursing home than physical activity alone. Due to the fact that all participants were in?uenced by the program, it is suggested to further explore this area for better understanding of enhanced quality of life.

Symbolic legislation in critical sociological theories refers to cases that are largely ineffective and serve political and social goals other than the officially proclaimed ones. A well-known example is the theory of Vilhelm Aubert. According to Aubert, this legislation was never intended to be effective. Since the 1990s, another concept of symbolic legislation has developed. Particularly in the theory of Dutch legislation, the symbolic legislation is an alternative legislative technique that differs from the traditional top-down approach. The main aim of the article is to synthesize the competing theoretical approaches through some examples of the Hungarian legal system.

Lacy phacelia (Phacelia tanacetifolia Benth.), a plant of North American origin, has been cultivated in the Carpathian Basin since the end of the 19th century. It was sown for ornamental purposes, but at the same time its potential for beekeeping was also recognized. It was prophesied to save the future of the Hungarian apiculture, but in the period following the Second World War with the collapse of the large estate system, it was cultivated as a bee pasture only on a small scale. Since the beginning of the 20th century, Hungarian researchers have been studied its forage potential in several experiments. Despite the fi rst contradictory conclusions, it has been respected as a valuable forage crop for several livestock species since the 1970s. Its excellent potential for green manuring and soil disinfection has been also confi rmed in many experiments carried out in the Carpathian Basin for more than a century. Since the end of the 1970s, its exportoriented seed production has boomed both in small and large farms in the Little Hungarian Plain (in NW Hungary). Th is practice has been strongly linked to migratory beekeeping, which has elevated lacy phacelia to the most important melliferous plants producing monofl oral honey in Hungary. Its annual production area has fl uctuated between 1500 and 11,000 ha in the last 20 years.

The r-switching-stable graphs

Bondy and Mercier (2011) defined a switching at a vertex of a digraph to be the operation of reversing the directions of the edges incident with that vertex. They asked which digraphs have the property that every switching produces a digraph isomorphic to the original, which they called switching-stability. That version of the problem was solved for oriented graphs by the second author and Schweitzer (McKay and Schweitzer, 2014). In this paper we generalise the problem in several directions. As well as oriented graphs, we consider graphs with coloured vertices or edges, and various types of switching which apply to them. We further consider r-switching-stable graphs, which are those for which any r distinct switchings together produce a graph isomorphic to the original. Finally, we consider what happens if the isomorphism relation between graphs is weakened to isomorphism up to converse (reversal of all directed edges or changing of all colours). Our proofs employ a combination of group theory and combinatorics, with a small amount of computer assistance.
