Description:

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and a Near Field Communication (NFC) is an automatic identification method, relying on storing and remotely retrieving data using devices different devices. An RFID tag and NFC devices is a small object that contains an antenna that enables it to receive and respond to radio-frequency. Basic requirements that these devices have to work in any conditions. In the working environment (closed or open air) there are always objects which can interact with radio frequency. This technical problem is to be considered when it comes to implementation of RFID or NFC devices knowing that materials can reflect, absorb or detune radio waves. In our paper we describe a system where NFC is applied. Many economic and technological questions arise by the implementation and usage. Copyright © FSB, Zagreb, Croatia, 2014.

Description:

Hungary - situating in the centre of the continent - is one of the most loaded transit country in Europe. There are many TEN-T corridors crossing the country. The external cost coming from the heavy road transport is very high. On the other hand there are other eco-friendly transport modes available like railway or inland navigation. In the general approach navigation is an untrustworthy technology and has uncertain capacity. The present study tries to change this opinion bringing new turn of mind. There are more way to define the waterway capacity. Because of the dynamic hydrological changes the cross-section has no stability, like road or railway cross-section. The paper shows these differences and deals with ,theoretical and planned capacity ,capacity factors ,flexibility analysis ,question of measure units ,time factor. Investigating the Effect of Gear Ratio in the Case of Joint Multi-Objective Optimization of Electric Motor and Gearbox

In this paper, a software framework is presented through an application that is able to jointly optimize an electric motor and a gearbox for the design of a drive system for electric vehicles. The framework employs a global optimization method and uses both analytical and finite element method (FEM) models to evaluate the objective functions. The optimization process is supported by a statistical surrogate model, which allows a large reduction of runtime. An earlier version of this framework was only suitable for electric motor optimization. In the application presented in a previous paper, the motor of a belt-driven electric drive system was optimized. In this paper, the optimization of the same drive system is shown, but now with a combined optimization of a gear drive and motor. The objective functions of optimization are minimizing the total loss energy and the weight of the drive system. The optimization results are compared with previous results to demonstrate the further potential of joint optimization.

The chapter investigates and discusses the impact of the political and administrative recentralisation process that has been going on in Hungary since 2011 on local government and urban governance, which has reduced the autonomy of both local and subnational self-governments. This chapter was written to confront the Hungarian urban policy with the challenges related to the new urban paradigm and the special principles of sustainable urban development defined in the New Urban Agenda, which was approved by the United Nations. The critical analysis identifies the tools of the state designed to penetrate more and more into the autonomy of local authorities and the impacts of these. Ist shines a light on the difficulties of the implementation of local governance by using the example of a post-socialist country. The chapter focuses on the role of large- and medium-sized Hungarian cities in the design and implementation of urban policy, based on the findings of an in-depth qualitative research made with city leaders. Throughout this, the analytical framework of the research is provided by multi-level governance and horizontal and vertical branches of cooperation and coordination. The findings point out that the operation of the Hungarian local governmental system has become fragmented in regard to urban and economic development. There are hardly any institutionalised arenas for horizontal cooperation, and unfortunately this is true for the cooperation among the governmental tiers. According to the conclusions drawn from the research, there is a tension between both the characteristics of the unitary nation state’s institutional structure and its urban policy and the elements of the New Urban Agenda. In the unitary state, the chances for the implementation of multi-level governance can be limited.

An applied control the PMSM is the flux weakening operation for extending the region over nominal speed but on nominal voltage. This paper deals with these questions and its impacts. The proved method is increasing the torque angle and with this the d axis directed component of the stator current vector for reduce the main flux, but the loss developing in magnets became significant. These impacts and its reduction need several investigations. Our work indicates the possibilities and limits of flux-weakening for a given PMSM, and a usable control strategy. © 2013 IEEE.

Numerical methods for solving the modified filter algebraic riccati equation for H-infinity filtering

This paper presents numerical methods for solving the Modified Filter Algebraic Riccati Equation (MFARE) for synthesis of H-infinity fault detection filters. Two methods are presented, namely the gamma-iteration and then rewriting the MFARE in Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMIs) and casting it as a convex optimization problem. Each algorithm has to ensure the condition for a global convergence and also has to deliver an optimal solution. Not at least the computational cost has to be as small as possible.

The National Committee for Accident Prevention (OBB) of the National Police Headquarters of Hungary (ORFK) has ordered an analytical research on accidents involving cyclists and pedestrians in 2013-14. The Department of Automotive and Railway Engineering at Széchenyi István University Gyor has carried out an evaluative and analytical study on this issue and has made proposals based on the results of the study. Within the framework of this project, it has also set out actions aiming to increase road safety. The following study gives an insight into this analysis.

This paper summarizes the authors up-to-date results in the research topic of railway ballast particles breakage test with individual laboratory test. In the past few years there were a lot of railway rehabilitation and maintenance project in Hungary, as well as abroad. The largest part of worlds railways has traditional superstructure, i.e. they are so called ballasted tracks. The railway ballast is the highest mass in the railways superstructure. Nowadays, it is a naturally fact that there is enough quantity of railway ballast in adequate quality. However, due to the modifications and restrictions in the related regulations since 2010, there are only few quarries in Hungary, which are able to ensure adequate railway ballast material for railway construction and maintenance projects for speed values between 120 and 160 km/h. Quarrying industry is stricken by aggravated environmental, heritage and conservation regulations year by year, it limits the accessibility of mineral wealth in significant manner. This fact with quality requirements means supply and quality risk in production of railway ballast in medium term. The main goal of authors research is to be able to simulate the stress-strain effect of ballast particles in real and objective manner in laboratory circumstances, as well as in discrete element method modeling. This paper introduces the exact assembly of executed laboratory test and newest test results. The authors summarize the up-to-date international literature review, using that they give short outlook to the planned research with research directions in near future.

Investigation of the Geometrical Deterioration Process of Tramway Superstructure Systems – A Case Study

Tramway tracks deteriorate over time due to operational loads, environmental conditions, and structural factors. This study analyzes the geometric degradation of Budapest's tramway tracks using long-term measurements. Track gauge and longitudinal level were assessed with the TrackScan 4.01 instrument to evaluate deterioration across different superstructure types. Findings indicate that concrete slab tracks experience gauge widening, while embedded rail systems tend to narrow under similar conditions, with structural design playing a greater role than traffic intensity. Measurement limitations highlight the need for improved monitoring tools. These insights support more effective maintenance strategies, ensuring greater durability and sustainability.
