Enhancing sustainable performance through green human resource management: Green competencies building and green passion playing as a joint moderation

This study aims to investigate the moderating effect of green competencies building (GCB) and green passion (GP) on the relationship between green human resource management (GHRM) and sustainable performance (SP). Moreover, it aims to find out the joint moderating effect of GCB and GP on the relationship between GHRM and SP. An online survey was used to gather 410 samples from various manufacturing organizations in Bangladesh, and the data was analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). The study found that GCB and GP separately and jointly moderate the relationship between GHRM and SP. This study uniquely explores how green competencies and green passion, both individually and jointly, moderate the relationship between GHRM and sustainable performance.

Dynamics of fuzzy-rough cognitive networks

Fuzzy-rough cognitive networks (FRCNs) are interpretable recurrent neural networks, primarily designed for solving classification problems. Their structure is simple and transparent, while the performance is comparable to the well-known black-box classifiers. Although there are many applications on fuzzy cognitive maps and recently for FRCNS, only a very limited number of studies discuss the theoretical issues of these models. In this paper, we examine the behaviour of FRCNs viewing them as discrete dynamical systems. It will be shown that their mathematical properties highly depend on the size of the network, i.e., there are structural differences between the long-term behaviour of FRCN models of different size, which may influence the performance of these modelling tools.

Minimum Curvature Trajectory Planning for Autonomous Vehicles in a Hierarchical Framework

Description:

This paper presents an approach for global trajectory planning using quadratic optimization and dynamic programming. In the global route planning phase, the goal is to find a route with minimal curvature for any road geometry, while a speed profile is determined by dynamic programming based on the vehicle's dynamic constraints. The method has a low computational cost and is well-suited for integration within a hierarchical system architecture, where the trajectory can be further refined with local route planning to enable the vehicle to adapt to changing environmental conditions. The developed method ensures vehicle stability while achieving the highest possible speed. The approach is implemented in the Frenet coordinate system within a self-developed simulation environment that allows for a comprehensive evaluation of vehicle dynamics, trajectory feasibility, and performance metrics. The results show that the proposed method can generate smooth and dynamically feasible trajectories while balancing curvature minimization, safety, and computational efficiency, making it well-suited for real-world applications.

The study seeks to answer the question as to why the combined performance of agriculture and forestry can be explained by the fact that in an EU member state with an agricultural disadvantage and with an advanced economy, the size of the cultivated area is high. The reasons are complex and suggest a deliberately chosen strategy, the essence of which is that in Austria the social perception of agriculture is far more favorable than it would be expected from its GDP contribution. The reasons for this are partly rooted in the history of the past, but may also be linked to a more immediate and strategic decision making primarily on the transformation of the agricultural product structure, the efficient use of resources from the EU, the use of sophisticated tools for rural tourism and, last but not least, on the widespread shaping of the attitudes of the population.

“Feed the global population and regenerate the planet.” The conditions necessary for the implementation of the above commonly used slogan did not exist 10–15 years ago. We did not have access to the information and databases that would have allowed us to increase yields for the purpose of feeding the growing population. While increasingly meeting sustainability requirements and regenerating the Earth. Anthropocentrism, the belief that humans are superior to everything else, benefits humans by exploiting human greed and ignorance, which is a dead end for both individuals and societies. Only humans can ignore the dynamic equilibrium processes of nature and disregard the consequences that adversely affect future generations. Ecocentric agricultural practices have several prerequisites. It is important for the academic sphere to recognize its significance. Another fundamental challenge is the continuous monitoring of the production unit and its close and distant environment for the purpose of decision preparation using Big Data. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a global infrastructure that represents the network of physical (sensors) and virtual (reality) “things” through interoperable communication protocols. This allows devices to connect and communicate using cloud computing and artificial intelligence, contributing to the integrated optimization of the production system and its environment, considering ecocentric perspectives. This brings us closer to the self-decision-making capability of artificial intelligence, the practice of machine-to-machine (M2M) interaction, where human involvement in decision-making is increasingly marginalized. The IoT enables the fusion of information provided by deployed wireless sensors, data-gathering mobile robots, drones, and satellites to explore complex ecological relationships in local and global dimensions. Its significance lies, for example, in the prediction of plant protection. The paper introduces small smart data logger robots, including the Unmanned Ground Vehicles (robots) developed by the research team. These can replace sensors deployed in the Wireless Sensor Net (WSN).

Comparison of some economic traits by genetic cluster of Aberdeen Angus cattle

The Angus cattle population of Hungary was categorized into four groups using 12 microsatellite markers exhibiting notable genetic variations. Moreover, some traits influencing the profitability and sustainability of beef cattle farming were compared between groups. Data were obtained from 5075 cows (born between 1990-2020) and 19 142 calves (born between 1997-2023), including 10 629 bull calves and 8513 heifer calves of different genetic backgrounds. Genetic groups were distinguished by origin, color, size, and type: blue group (BG), red group (RG), green group (GG), and yellow group (YG). The six investigated traits were age at first calving (AFC), productive lifespan (PL), number of calves born (NCB), culling age (AGE), birth weight (BW), and the 205 d adjusted weaning weight (WW). The averages of the six tested traits were as follows: AFC - 2.35 ± 0.54 years; NCB - 5.89 ± 3.69 heads; PL - 6.85 ± 4.13 years; AGE - 9.2 ± 4.26 years; BW - 29.4 ± 4.28 kg; and WW - 176.9 ± 44.07 kg. YG excelled in terms of NCB, PL, AGE, and WW traits, while RG performed best in terms of AFC and BW. BG displayed the lowest performance across NCB, PL, AGE, BW, and WW. The heavier Red Angus individuals were largely behind the performance of the traditional-type, smaller British-type Black and Red Angus individuals in the tested traits affecting sustainability and profitability. Significant reproduction and longevity trait differences exist among different genetic groups of Angus beef cattle genotyped by DNA microsatellite information. The results indicated significant differences in terms of the performance of different Angus types with regard to the tested traits. These findings could be useful in developing breeding concepts and making selection decisions, contributing to more efficient and sustainable breeding strategies.

Understanding and analyzing the effect of residual stresses in direct metal laser sintering through optical deformation measurement

Residual stresses are one of the main challenges in metal additive manufacturing, particularly in direct metal laser sintering (DMLS). These stresses often lead to deformation once parts are removed from the build plate. In this study, we investigated the causal relationship between internal stresses and deformation behavior using a specially designed twin-cantilever geometry. This setup allowed parallel evaluation of different stress-relief treatments on a single component while minimizing cross-effects. High-precision optical 3D scanning was used to measure full-surface deformations before and after support removal and stress-relief heat treatment. The 1.2709 maraging steel (X3NiCoMoTi18-9-5) specimens were produced using a DMLS process with standard parameters, and stress-relief annealing was performed at 600 °C for 24 h. Results show that the heat treatment significantly reduced distortion on the supported side of the parts, with changes under 5%, while unsupported regions showed increased deformation, exceeding 60% in some cases. This indicates that internal stresses remain largely intact during heating and can further distort softened material if not mechanically constrained. The study confirms the critical role of constraint during heat treatment and demonstrates that optical metrology offers a reliable method to evaluate deformation trends. The results provide important insights into stress management strategies for DMLS parts and highlight the limitations of thermal relief in unconstrained geometries.

The impact of tourism services development on income inequality in Kazakhstan’s regions

This study investigates the relationship between tourism development and income inequality across regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, using regional panel data for 2003–2024. The empirical analysis is based on an unbalanced panel of 16 regions, comprising 367 region–year observations. Fixed-effects regression models are employed to examine how two distinct dimensions of tourism development (tourism services per capita and tourist accommodation places per capita) affect income inequality measured by the regional Gini coefficient. The results indicate that the intensity of tourism service provision does not have a statistically significant effect on income inequality, even after controlling for cross-sectional dependence. In contrast, tourism accommodation infrastructure capacity is positively and statistically significantly associated with regional income inequality across all model specifications. Additional results show that income inequality is significantly influenced by poverty incidence, income polarization, healthcare expenditures, and the share of the rural population. The coefficients on the per-capita tourist accommodation variable are positive across all specifications. This indicates that the growth of this indicator contributes to increased income inequality. Moreover, the coefficients for the indicators ShServPop and ShServPop(–1) are significant. However, they cannot be relied upon, as Pesaran’s test rejects the hypothesis of cross-sectional independence for these specifications. This suggests that the growth of tourism infrastructure may exacerbate, rather than reduce, regional income differences due to capital concentration, skill-labor-oriented employment, and price effects. The results highlight the need for complementary policies that promote inclusive tourism development and mitigate inequality-enhancing effects of tourism-related infrastructure investment.

Analysis of coupling in geographic information systems based on WASPAS method for bipolar complex fuzzy linguistic Aczel-Alsina power aggregation operators

The model of bipolar complex fuzzy linguistic set is a very famous and dominant principle to cope with vague and uncertain information. The bipolar complex fuzzy linguistic set contained the positive membership function, negative membership function, and linguistic variable, where the technique of fuzzy sets to bipolar fuzzy sets are the special cases of the bipolar complex fuzzy linguistic set. In this manuscript, we describe the model of Aczel-Alsina operational laws for bipolar complex fuzzy linguistic values based on Aczel-Alsina t-norm and Aczel-Alsina t-conorm. Additionally, we compute the Aczel-Alsina power aggregation operators based on bipolar complex fuzzy linguistic data, called bipolar complex fuzzy linguistic Aczel-Alsina power averaging operator, bipolar complex fuzzy linguistic Aczel-Alsina power weighted averaging operator, bipolar complex fuzzy linguistic Aczel-Alsina power geometric operator, and bipolar complex fuzzy linguistic Aczel-Alsina power weighted geometric operator with some dominant and fundamental laws such as idempotency, monotonicity, and boundedness. Moreover, we initiate the model of the Weighted Aggregates Sum Product Assessment technique with the help of consequent theory. In the context of geographic information systems and spatial information systems, coupling aims to find out the relationships among different components within a geographic information system, where coupling can occur at many stages, for instance, spatial coupling, data coupling, and functional coupling. To evaluate the above dilemma, we perform the model of multi-attribute decision-making for invented operators to compute the best technique for addressing geographic information systems. In the last, we deliberate some numerical examples for comparing the ranking results of proposed and prevailing techniques.
