Dietary Inclusion of Defatted Silkworm (Bombyx mori L.) Pupa Meal for Broiler Chickens at Different Ages: Growth Performance, Carcass and Meat Quality Traits

The present study was conducted to assess the effects of a 4% defatted silkworm (SWM-DEF) meal dietary incorporation into chickens’ diet at different growth stages on growth performances, carcass, and meat quality traits. A total of 90 Ross 308 one-day-old male broiler chickens were randomly allocated into 3 dietary groups of 5 replicated pens/diet (6 chickens/pen). One group was fed a standard soybean-based diet (C); group SWM1 consumed a starter diet (1–10 days of age) including 4% SWM-DEF and then the C diet up to slaughter (11–42 days of age); group SWM2 was fed with the C diet in the starter phase and the 4% SWM-DEF diet up to slaughter. Individual live weight and pen feed intake were determined at the end of each feeding phase: starter, grower, and finisher. Weight gain and FCR were then calculated. At 42 days of age, chickens were slaughtered and carcass traits determined. Leg and breast physico-chemical meat quality was also evaluated. Results confirmed that SWM-DEF could be a possible alternative feed source for chickens since growth performance, carcass, and meat physical traits were overall comparable in the three treatment groups. The feeding stage seemed to play a relevant impact on the sole meat protein content (SWM1 < SMW2 and C; p < 0.001). Concluding, the results available to date indicate that 4% SWM-DEF can be provided to chickens in different growth phases, and the choice of the inclusion period is more an industrial cost-benefit evaluation. From the scientific point of view, however, an administration in the grower-finisher phase rather than in the starter one provided the best meat nutritional quality. Further investigations should focus on the impact on meat fatty acids profile and sensory traits, which are of utmost importance for consumers.

GUESTS’ SATISFACTION IN GYŐR-MOSON-SOPRON COUNTY, IN HUNGARY

The primary goal of the study is to explore the satisfaction of Hungarian people with food delivery services, which gained popularity during the COVID-19 pandemic, in the post-pandemic period. The publication's main research questions are: to what extent are customers satisfied with the speed of food delivery and the temperature of the delivered meals? The empirical research also analyses whether the speed of delivery influences the customers' attitudes towards their connection with the catering establishments. The survey was carried out between April 10, 2022, and June 30, 2022. The sample is non-representative (N=452), with respondents being selected arbitrarily in Győr-Moson-Sopron County. Data were processed using the IBM SPSS 25.0 statistical software package. During the primary research the authors examined the current food ordering habits of the participants using statistical (descriptive, correlational) analyses. The aim of this study is to identify and evaluate the key factors that influence customer satisfaction and decision-making in the food delivery industry, providing actionable insights for service providers. The topic of the present study is the examination of the customer satisfaction and decision-making of the Hungarian population focusing on the food delivery industry. A comprehensive literature review was conducted to establish a theoretical framework and formulate hypotheses. A survey-based methodology was employed to collect data from consumers and the collected data were analysed using statistical techniques to test the formulated hypotheses and determine the relationships between the identified factors and customer satisfaction. Results and discussions: presentation and analysis of the obtained results. The study concludes that delivery speed, food temperature, price-value ratio, quality, variety and online presence are crucial factors in the customer satisfaction and decision-making in the food delivery industry. Addressing these aspects can help service providers enhance their competitiveness and improve the overall customer experience.

Sustainable development seeks to strike a balance between economic growth, social well-being and environmental protection. It should be integrated into financial development as well. As a consequence, banks are realising changes in their roles, decision-making, and operations. This paper aims to introduce a structured literature outlook about the different interpretations of sustainable financial development (SFD) on micro and macro levels. The literature mapping is focusing on three main contexts. The basic assumption of the paper is that it is crucial to emphasise the importance of country-level economic growth, the indicators used to determine the level of financial development and the resilience of the financial intermediary actors. As a consequence, the paper represents some existing results in terms of these three contexts. This gives the future basis for the efficient interpretation of sustainable financial development aspects in the operation and the decision-making processes of financial institutions and also for policy-making institutions on the macro-level.

GPS Based Navigation and Mobile Base Station of a Mobile Robot Platform

One of the central challenges of today is to increase the degree of automation of the available systems and equipment in a sustainable way. This paper presents the development of an outdoor mobile robot platform navigation method, including an on-board unit and a mobile base station to support the operation of the ZalaZone Automotive Proving Ground in Zalaegerszeg, Hungary, by precise, automated deployment of traffic cones. Currently, traffic cone handling is a time- and labor-intensive job. Its automation saves a significant amount of human resources. As a first step, the technical requirements of the problem have been defined. Then, the navigation system that met the pre-defined requirements has been implemented. This paper presents the detailed development of this navigation system, including a description of the test phases as well. As part of the development process, the operation of a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receiver corrected by Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) is presented, supported by a small, low-power mobile base station, followed by a description of the applied hardware and software components, alongside with the alignment and further development of these components to achieve centimeter-accurate positioning. The Network Transport of Radio Technical Commission for Maritime Services (RTCM) via Internet Protocol (NTRIP) server facilitates the communication between the onboard unit and the base station via a 5G network. This work is continued by a detailed description of the autopilot system on the robotic platform, including the tools and software used for this purpose. The calibration process of the navigation system is described as well. Finally, the results and observations gained during the test are summarized and analyzed. These results have shown that the addition of an RTK system has highly increased the accuracy of a general GNSS receiver. In addition, these results underline the crucial role of 5G networks in the case of automated mobile applications.

Trust and communication in the context of leaders and employees

The article deals with the topic of communication and trust in leadership which affect the success of cooperation and organizational performance. The paper summarizes the theoretical basis of trust and communication and examines what leaders must do to develop them and achieve the expected results and outcomes. The study focuses on Zenger and Folkman’s model related to the two aspects of leaders’ qualities: warmth and professional competence. The empirical analysis is conducted on a dataset obtained from a Hungarian nationwide omnibus study where 999 responses were collected. The methodology is based on the application of Confirmatory Factor Analysis and Binary Logistic Regression. The research confirmed that trust and communication are significant factors of leadership success, whereas warmth is measured to have twice as much importance as professional competence in building the former two. This is the first study where the Zenger and Folkman’s model is controlled in a Central and Eastern European country in the context of leaders and employees.

Preparing of a Simulation System for an Examination of Non-Conventional Seating Positions in the Case of a Self-Driving Car

In recent years, society has turned it is gaze ever further away from vehicles with conventional drive systems such as the internal combustion engine towards vehicles with electric motors. In the course of these ideas, the concept of autonomous driving is increasingly coming to the forefront and crystallizing as a wish. The article introduces the field of vehicle safety in general and lists possible injury criteria. After that, the current concepts of fully autonomous vehicles will be presented. The aim of the research is to investigate the effect of different rotated seat positions on the injuries of passengers in the event of an accident using a simulation model. The article presents the applied simulation procedure, the simulation results and its validation. The article pointed out that the kinematics of the driver's movement during an accident changes radically as a result of the rotated seat positions, which significantly increases the chance of fatal injuries.

Managing Practice Based Teaching of Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning (SUMP) Using Digital Tools During COVID’19

Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning (SUMP) is one of the key element of the new EU Urban Mobility Framework. The European Commission has offered variety of programs in the previous years, such as the Horizon 2020 to support Member States to promote SUMPs in their region, and still offers funding for range amount of sustainable settlement and transport related projects. At the same time Member States are also keen on to maintain the roll out of SUMPs within their national support program, with public transport, walking and cycling at its heart. In the last decade the authors took part in the development of many SUMPs and since 2020 the authors participated in an international, so called UrbanSCOPE—Urban Sustainable Mobility in focus: student education, community involvement and participative planning, Erasmus+ project, that aim was to improve the quality of teaching in universities, by offering students a methodology in the preparation of a SUMP for a locality in their cities, actively involving local communities and local authorities in the process. During the project educational packages: learning materials for students and teaching guides for lecturers were developed, in order to let understand sustainable mobility better, than before and as well as to experience the rights of participation in the planning of sustainable mobility. With the contribution of the authors new digital tools were also introduced for teachers and students during the COVID’19, that helped to rise the efficiency of planning during restrictions and lock down.

Application of Substructure Techniques to Syntactic Metal Foams in a Finite Element Environment

The presented work focuses on the development of a novel method that can numerically describe the properties of metal matrix syntactic foam (MMSF) with low memory requirements and short computational times without losing the properties of the interior structure. In this paper, we propose a novel method that avoids using the homogenization technique and instead rearranges stiffness matrices and constructs specific substructures to perform the overall construction. The two-dimensional cases are discussed in order to focus on the methodology itself. First, the reductions and structural design with solid mesh structures were performed, and then the model was applied on structures filled with iron hollow spheres. So far, the method has been used to evaluate small deformations to see how suitable the subspace technique is for describing metal foams. Aluminum was used as the matrix material, as it is one of the most common materials for MMSFs. The optimal parameters were searched that resulted in the shortest running time for the given construction. Since in the proposed substructure technique only the displacement values at the boundary points are computed, a back-calculation step for each selected substructure was performed to see the interior deformations in the vicinity of an iron hollow sphere.

Many disciplines deal with the analysis of the spread of epidemics (or pandemics). Spatial relations and regional inequalities are the determining variables of the intensity, extent and severity of the spread of an epidemic, so it is essential to investigate epidemics from a regional perspective. Mathematical, statistical, network, and spatial simulation models can be used in spatial analysis for investigating the spread of epidemics. In this study, statistical methods are used as a basis. A possible way to reduce the severity of epidemics – be it health or economic effects – is to slow down the intensity of the spread. To this end, we carried out the retrospective study and examined the Győr-Moson-Sopron county during the period when the pandemic caused by the Covid-19 coronavirus was most intense in our country, just as it was in most countries of the world, too.
