Matrix Factorization (MF) based approaches have proven to be efficient for rating-based recommendation systems. In this work, we propose several matrix factorization approaches with improved prediction accuracy. We introduce a novel and fast (semi)-positive MF approach that approximates the features by using positive values for either users or items. We describe a momentum-based MF approach. A transductive version of MF is also introduced, which uses information from test instances (namely the ratings users have given for certain items) to improve prediction accuracy. We describe an incremental variant of MF that efficiently handles new users/ratings, which is crucial in a real-life recommender system. A hybrid MF - neighbor-based method is also discussed that further improves the performance of MF. The proposed methods are evaluated on the Netflix Prize dataset, and we show that they can achieve very favorable Quiz RMSE (best single method: 0.8904, combination: 0.8841) and running time. The purpose of this research study is to identify the factors of knowledge sharing among library professionals of higher educational institutions of Pakistan. There are very few studies on the knowledge exchange between library professionals in Pakistan’s higher education institutions. In this study model which has all the elements used to examine the knowledge sharing, in the study researcher investigate the impact of technological, organizational and individual on library professionals’ knowledge sharing behavior. The study adopted a descriptive survey design as research design and quantitative as type of research type. Questionnaire was adapted and used to collect data from 240 librarians through Google form survey in the higher educational institutions. The population of study is higher educational institutions of Pakistan. Convenience sampling techniques was used for data collection. The data were analyzed through the measurement model and structural equation model (PLS-SEM). The results of the study technological development, organizational development and individual development are significant for knowledge sharing in higher educational intuitions in Pakistan. This study gave new insights through to policy makers for the future polices to higher authorities.

Forensic genetic genealogy (FGG), also known as investigative genetic genealogy (IGG), produces investigative leads in criminal cases where unidentified DNA is discovered at the crime scene and does not match any profiles in criminal databases. It works by comparing crime scene DNA samples to public or private genealogical databases to identify potential familial relationships and narrow down suspects or identify unknown individuals. Although the fields of FGG and digital forensics (DF) work with different types of evidence and techniques, and consequently develop independently, they share several common characteristics. This study aims to demonstrate that despite their independent development and differences, the experiences of progress in DF field can be utilized in some respects, especially concerning the protection of the rights of the individuals concerned. The aim of this article is to outline some areas where DF can provide assistance in dealing with ethical and social challenges that FGG must address.

Unethical behavior in organizations has garnered more and more attention in the last decades but most of the scholarly work has used a static approach relying on methodological individualism and a mechanistic worldview when studying this topic. The process of moral disengagement and organizational culture have been linked to the prevalence of unethical behavior earlier, but this paper uses a complexity-informed systems perspective to explore the dynamic relationship of these concepts and aims to improve our understanding of the often unnoticeable, step-by-step process through which organizational cultures can become conducive to unethical behavior. Organizations are conceptualized as complex adaptive systems in which transformative and stabilizing processes based on feedback loops take place continuously. It is discussed how these processes can lead to a phase transition driving organizations towards a state where unethical behavior is the general norm. The process is illustrated through real-life examples.

In this part of the paper we intend to show a hermeneutical comparison between Csontváry's Wailing Wall picture and Jung's famous Fatehpur dream as characteristic manifestations of the collective individuation. We discuss their mainly unconscious participation mystique with Sabbatai Zwi and his 'theology' together with their interest in the 'David-Uriah' mythologem. Afterward we analyze the mediumship of Csontváry comparing with the mediumship of C. G. Jung and W. Pauli.

The specificities of temperature-dependent electrochemical modelling strategies of 18650 Li-ion batteries were investigated in pseudo-2D, 2D and 3D domains using finite element analysis. Emphasis was placed on exploring the challenges associated with the geometric representation of the batteries in each domain, as well as analysing the performance of coupled thermal-electrochemical models. The results of the simulations were compared with real reference measurements, where temperature data were collected using temperature sensors and a thermal camera. It was highlighted that the spiral geometry provides the most realistic results in terms of the temperature distribution, as its layered structure allows for a detailed realisation of the radial heat transfer within the cell. On the other hand, the 3D-lumped thermal model is able to recover the temperature distribution in the axial direction of the cell and to reveal the influence of the cell cap and the cell wall on the thermal behaviour of the cell. The effect of cooling is an important factor that can be introduced in the models as a boundary condition by heat convection or heat flux. It has been shown that both regulated and unregulated (i.e., natural) cooling conditions can be achieved using an appropriate choice of the rate and type of cooling applied.

This book covers new aspects and frameworks of control, design, and optimization based on the TP model transformation and its various extensions. The author outlines the three main steps of polytopic and LMI based control design: 1) development of the qLPV state-space model, 2) generation of the polytopic model; and 3) application of LMI to derive controller and observer. He goes on to describe why literature has extensively studied LMI design, but has not focused much on the second step, in part because the generation and manipulation of the polytopic form was not tractable in many cases. The author then shows how the TP model transformation facilitates this second step and hence reveals new directions, leading to powerful design procedures and the formulation of new questions. The chapters of this book, and the complex dynamical control tasks which they cover, are organized so as to present and analyze the beneficial aspect of the family of approaches (control, design, and optimization). Additionally, the book aims to convey simple TP modeling; a new convex hull manipulation based possibilities for optimization; a general framework for stability analysis; standardized modeling and system description; relaxed and universal LMI based design framework; and a gateway to time-delayed systems.

This study aims to determine the impact of supply chain integration on supply chain performance and the Internet of Things (IoT) mediating role in Sindh Pakistan's textile industry. Primary data was gathered with the help of questionnaires from previous studies. The employees were requested to complete the questionnaire online, and the concerned HR department was officially contacted. To achieve the research objectives of this study, SmartPLS version 3 is applied. The findings of this study confirmed the direct effect of internal integration, supplier integration, and the Internet of Things on supply chain performance. In addition to this, the present study also confirmed the partial mediation effect of IoT between internal integration, supplier integration, and supply chain performance in the textile industry of Sindh, Pakistan, a developing country. This research uses RBV theory to examine the textile industry's supply chain and effectiveness. Internal integration, partner integration, IoT, and supply chain performance are discussed in the research. This clarifies how these technologies operate together to give organizations a competitive advantage. The study shows how the Internet of Things (IoT) is a go-between for integration and supply chain success. Textile business managers should consider investing money into IoT devices and using their benefits. Companies can get real-time information about their supply chain by using IoT devices and monitors.

Chinese and Indian transnational corporations’ investments in Hungary

The aim of this paper is to assess the main features of Chinese and Indian investments in Hungary and the role of the Hungarian Government’s Eastern Opening policy in the attraction of investments from these two Asian giants. This paper covers the sectoral distribution, modes of market entry and motivations of Chinese and Indian foreign direct investments. The automotive sector is the most attractive sector for investors from both countries. ICT manufacturing (electronics) and services and the renewable energy sector are also very attractive for Chinese companies. The same is true for IT/BPO services and the chemical sector in the case of Indian companies. Chinese and Indian companies enter the Hungarian economy mainly through green-field investments or acquisitions. Market-seeking and strategic asset-seeking motives are dominant in the case of investors from both countries. In the last decade, the Eastern Opening policy has positively influenced the investment decision (location choice) of several new Chinese and Indian investors and the further expansion of investments by Chinese and Indian companies located in Hungary.
