The underlying research problem concerns simplifying nature’s infinite sustaina-bility pattern into a usable system to prove self-care in the financial field. Many disciplines have discovered self-sustaining systems, implying one should also exist in the portfolio-or asset management field. This paper models and applies a self-sustaining invest-ment system based on nature’s sustainability pattern to present a usable and easi-ly adaptable financial self-care model that can contribute to societal and individ-ual well-being.This interdisciplinary research incorporates fractal patterns from na-ture and integrates these into an innovative investment decision system via a working and utilizable model. The article approaches the problem in three ways. First, it applies an unprecedented, proprietary fuzzy heuristic approach to parse the Mandelbrot set hiding nature’s growth code. Second, it subjects the resulting model system to static, dynamic, and iterative methods. Finally, it tests the above in practice in a focus group research project based on individual decisions in a portfolio collision. The paper brings manageable order to investment deci-sion processes using a specific econophysics approach to provide a complex whole of frames, alternatives, and dynamic wealth management functions. The paper attempts to demonstrate the self-sustaining power of the natural order in investment portfolio returns, behavioral finance, and wealth management deci-sions. The theory of an efficient, well-functioning, self-sustaining investment decision system based on heuristic criteria is developable and has been proven. The study made the organizational dominance measurable and – through fuzzy logic – simplified the complexity of the Mandelbrot set. The research also shows the scalability of the fuzzy symmetry framework, implying that it is transferable to other disciplines.

The war in Ukraine in light of international law

The aggression and the 'special military operation' against Ukraine by the Russian Federation have, since their outset, implied not only the violation of fundamental customary and treaty norms of international law, but, at the same time also undermine the foundations of the contemporary international legal order. The 'special military operation' violates several universal international conventions in the elaboration of which the predecessor state of contemporary Russia, the Soviet Union had a definitive role; furthermore, it expressly breaches Russian undertakings concerning respect for the independence and sovereignty of Ukraine. Since in this case the aggressor state is a permanent member of the UN Security Council, thus, instead of the Council, the emergency special session of the UN General Assembly proceeds on the basis of the Uniting for Peace resolution and makes recommendations for collective measures to the Member States. The present study discusses the most important international norms breached with the aggression and during the war, the resolutions of the emergency special sessions of the UN General Assembly, the post-war situation, as well as the issue of remedy and reparation due to Ukraine.

Changes in tourists’ behavior in recent times have been considered a driving force for emphasizing the importance of unpopular tourism destinations as one of the key potentials in the tourism industry in any nation. On the road to reviving unpopular tourism destinations, this study aims to identify the potential tourism aspect and development of the Ngawen Temple in Indonesia. This research applies the placemaking approach as the main strategy for resurrecting Ngawen Temple. By using visitor surveys, visitor flows, and community surveys, this research obtains a clearer assessment for determining the planning development of Ngawen Temple. The research results revealed that unpopular destinations still have the potential to be developed and bring more benefits to the local economy by conducting a comprehensive placemaking approach. Accordingly, possible strategies based on various literature and field observations can provide clues to stakeholders on how to use their tourism assets to improve local communities’ economies. Some of the most frequently proposed strategies are the following: link the unpopular destination with other popular ones through structured tourism trips; design a “tourist trap,” which is a created place to hold tourists longer in a destination using new additional facilities; improve the infrastructure; and establish more creative tourism spaces, such as tourism centers.

The global food sector is experiencing a significant transformation through the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), robotics, big data analytics, and smart sensors, among others. These advancements are reshaping food production, processing, and supply chains by enhancing efficiency, transparency, and sustainability. This chapter explores the enabling technologies of Industry 4.0 and introduces the concept of Seafood 4.0, demonstrating how these innovations address challenges in aquaculture, fisheries, and seafood processing by optimizing resource use, enhancing traceability, and ensuring product quality while fostering sustainable practices. Applications such as IoT and smart sensors for aquaculture monitoring, blockchain for fisheries traceability, and robotics for seafood processing automation are transforming the sector. However, adaptation of these applications faces significant challenges, including high costs, infrastructure gaps, and data privacy concerns. Overcoming these obstacles will require collaboration among stakeholders, supportive regulatory frameworks, and strategic investment in innovation. The adoption of these advanced technologies empowers diverse food-related sectors, including seafood, to enhance efficiency, transparency, and sustainability, ensuring food security and promoting environmental stewardship.

A wavelet-based adaptive method for determining eigenstates of electronic systems

The possibilities for reducing the necessary computation power in wavelet-based electronic structure calculations are studied. The expansion of the expectation values of energy operators, the integrals of basis functions are mostly system-independent, consequently it is not necessary to compute them in each calculations. Fixed building blocks, such as a parameterized expansion of the nuclear and electron-electron cusp can reduce the amount of necessary calculation. An algorithm for local expansion refinement is also given. It is possible to determine the significant expansion coefficients of a high resolution level without solving the Schrödinger equation using only lower resolution results. © Springer-Verlag 2009.

Intelligent wavelet based pre-filtering method for ultrasonic sensor fusion inverse algorithm performance optimization

Certain obstacle mapping applications require the live evaluation of the measured data to prevent collision with obstacles. The fusion of different or similar sensors usually has a high calculation demand, which increases significantly with the area to be evaluated and the number of sensors. In the present considerations, we propose a wavelet-based adaptive optimization method, which can greatly decrease the number of grid points to be evaluated, and thus the necessary computation time. The basis of the method is to use the fact that the areas to be evaluated mostly face a rather small number of obstacles, which cover a smaller percentage of the whole environment. The first step in a pre-filtering process is the determination of the zones where no obstacles are present. This step can already result in a considerable decrease in the computation time, however with the transformation to polar coordinates, the method will not only be more fitted to the problem to be solved, but the area of the evaluation can also be increased with the same number of grid points. As a last step, we applied wavelet transformation to identify the regions of interest, where the application of a refined raster is necessary, and thus further decreasing the number of grid points where the calculation has to be carried out. We used our previously developed probability-based ultrasonic sensor fusion inverse algorithm to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method.

Green industry development focuses on balancing economic and financial growth with environmental stewardship and ensuring that companies and industries are contributing positively to both environmental sustainability and prosperity. This manuscript aims to develop the novel technique of circular complex p, q-quasirung orthopair fuzzy 2-tuple linguistic (CCp, q-QOF2-TL) set and their operational laws based on algebraic t-norms and Hamacher t-norms, where the algebraic t-norms and Einstein t-norms are the special cases of the Hamacher t-norms for parameter ϜℲs=l and ϜℲs=2. Further, we derive the Hamacher power aggregation operators based on any finite collection of CCp, q-QOF2-TL numbers (CCp, q-QOF2-TLNs), called CCp, q-QOF2-TL Hamacher power average (CCp, q-QOF2-TLHPA) operator, CCp, q-QOF2-TL Hamacher power weighted average (CCp, q-QOF2-TLHPWA) operator, CCp, q-QOF2-TL Hamacher power geometric (CCp, q-QOF2-TLHPG) operator, CCp, q-QOF2-TL Hamacher power weighted geometric (CCp, q-QOF2-TLHPWG) operator, and described their basic properties, called idempotency, monotonicity, and boundedness. Further, we demonstrate the technique of multi-attribute decision-making (MADM) problem based on the above operators to evaluate the major factor that will be playing in the development of the green industry. Finally, we compare the proposed ranking values with the obtained ranking values of existing techniques to show the supremacy and superiority of the initiated approaches.

Laboratory tests and numerical modeling for embankment foundation on soft chalky silt using deep-mixing

The deep-mixing is nowadays world-wide accepted method as a ground treatment technology to improve the permeability, strength and deformation properties of soils. Binders, such as lime or cement are mixed in-situ with the soil by rotating mixing tools. The method is undergoing rapid development, particularly with regard to its range of applicability, cost effectiveness and environmental advantages. The paper describes the results of laboratory tests on chalky silt samples mixed with cement of different content. The influence of the different mixing parameters on the unconfined compression strength and deformation modulus is shown and evaluated. Typical results of the laboratory tests were used in numerical modeling with PLAXIS 3D as input parameters to study the behavior of a 4 m high embankment constructed on this soil improved by deep mixed columns with different spacing and diameters. The parameters of the soil improvement technique were analyzed to study their influence on the settlement and the stability of the embankment. The trends of the calculation outputs are shown and evaluated.
