PREFACE The use of various digital and smart devices and systems has also become more and more part of people's daily lives, with the emergence of the human-machine interface as a tool to help them work in various activities. Digitalisation is one of the most significant trends and tendencies of our time, and can be seen as the next step in globalisation [1]. Media literacy is an umbrella term, similar to ICT [2] and new media phenomena have become increasingly visible. Digital technology-enhanced literacy, mediated by ICT systems, is thus playing an increasingly important role, with a growing impact on society, the economy and education, and its transformative effects. The essence of these phenomena is that the new cultural form is created and exists on a digital platform [3].Mobile technology, ambient intelligence, digital games, big data-based technologies and algorithms are an integral part of this world [4]. The study and systematisation of the digital transformative effects of all these phenomena is becoming increasingly vital and has a growing impact on the learning process. On the one hand, the process of digitalisation serves as an internal driving force for digital work-based educational processes, and on the other hand, it represents a major challenge for the different actors in educational systems and for learners.

Determination of critical deformation regions of a lithium polymer battery by dic measurement and wowa filter

This paper considers the determination method of deformation location of lithium polymer batteries. Measurements are performed using the Digital Image Correlation (DIC) technique and the obtained results are sorted into a database as a function of the charge level. A statistically based algorithm is used to eliminate measurement errors and outliers. This paper adopts the Weighted Ordered Weighted Averaging (WOWA) operator-based 2D filtering method with the purpose of determining the critical regions of the cell. During the tests, several lithium polymer batteries of the same type but in different states are compared. Measurements on completely new and also on worn-out batteries are performed. The results support that the regions where greater deformation is expected during charging and discharging can be predicted. Results of investigations validate that the proposed approach is suitable for determining the critical deformation regions with high accuracy.

EXAMINING A MENU ON THE BASIS OF THE KASAVANA - SMITH MODEL IN A HUNGARIAN RESTAURANT

Gastronomy is currently undergoing a renaissance, different gastronomic trends influence the way menus are set up. The purpose of this study is to investigate the menu of a restaurant in a Transdanubian city in terms of sold portions and margins. After an unstructured interview with the manager, the breadth and depth of the offer were investigated. Then the data were examined, based on the restaurant's menu selection, traffic and cost data with the help of time series analysis. During the processing of time series data, the analysis takes into account seasonality and compares the same terminology of the years studied. With the turnover and cost data, the Kasavana and Smith portfolio analysis method was used and based on the margin and the number of portions sold, the Menu engineering worksheet was used to create the data series for the presentation. The research provides a detailed picture of sales decisions for the period 2016-2019. The results of the examination show that reducing the selection and offering special dishes are in line with the gastronomical trends, but not necessarily with the location of the restaurant and the needs of its target audience. Using the model, seasonality was examined for the first time, which did not prove that restaurant guests were looking for seasonal food. With a well-selected menu – which is one of the most important marketing communication tools - the restaurant is able to influence guests' food choices. Proper use of colours, shapes and prices all affect the guest's subconscious mind, which is responsible for a large percentage of decisions. The character of the restaurant and its guests are usually determined by the dishes on the menu. In the case of the investigated restaurant the solution could be to tailor the prices to the target group and to strengthen the marketing communication. The restaurant — taking advantage of the large space — can be used to serve different target groups by sharing the room

The combination of current technical possibilities of handheld 3D scanning devices, 3D data analysis and interaction, and novel 3D bioprinting technologies has opened the way to develop workflows and scenarios for the generation of personalized human prosthesis. Specifically, using the human ear as one example to develop a cost-effective chain of methods and tools, the above mentioned combined and interacting technologies can be used to understand and demonstrate the possibilities for rapid bio prototyping. Production workflows for personalized soft-material bio-prosthesis gain significance in reconstructive and plastic surgery. This paper introduces a workflow concept, presents a list of appropriate and accessible state-of-the-art handheld scanners, followed by an image processing solution based on the MeshLab application and printing first prototypes.

Investigation of the Effects of Thermit Welding on the Mechanical Properties of the Rails

This current paper deals with the investigation of the variation of the hardness of the rail steel material in the heat-affected zone (HAZ) of a rail joint made by thermit welding (TW). The tested rail is a normal R260 type rail steel category; its production date is 1977, the rolling mill was Diosgyor (Hungary), rail profile is MÁV 48.5. This rail has not been in railway track before the test. The authors performed hardness tests on the rail head’s surface even after the rail welding, as well. After the welding and hardness tests, the rail joint was cut with +/–200 mm by a rail cutter and transported to the laboratory. Water jet cutting was applied to shape six longitudinal direction slices with five vertical cutting lines from the rail piece’s head. The slices’ length was 400 mm, the width of these slices was approx. 10 mm; the TW rail joint was in the mid-point of the slices. Micro-Vickers (HV10) hardness tests were executed on these slices, in the –150…+150 mm interval lengthwise and in the 3, 6, and 10 mm depth points below the rail head’s top surface. As a result, the authors received a very detailed hardness functions of the HAZ of rail joint made by TW. These variation functions were compared to the official Elektrothermit’s SoW-5 hardness tests’ results. It can be concluded that the variation of the hardness of rail steel in the area of the HAZ correlated with the Elektrothermit’s results; however, there were some critical points where significant differences were able to be found. The highest deviation was concluded in 50 mm distance measured from the axis of welded rail joint. The authors gave possible valuable explanations for these phenomena.

Artificial Intelligence-Based Colorectal Polyp Histology Prediction by Using Narrow-Band Image-Magnifying Colonoscopy

Background/Aims: We have been developing artificial intelligence based polyp histology prediction (AIPHP) method to classify Narrow Band Imaging (NBI) magnifying colonoscopy images to predict the hyperplastic or neoplastic histology of polyps. Our aim was to analyze the accuracy of AIPHP and narrow-band imaging international colorectal endoscopic (NICE) classification based histology predictions and also to compare the results of the two methods. Methods: We studied 373 colorectal polyp samples taken by polypectomy from 279 patients. The documented NBI still images were analyzed by the AIPHP method and by the NICE classification parallel. The AIPHP software was created by machine learning method. The software measures five geometrical and color features on the endoscopic image. Results: The accuracy of AIPHP was 86.6% (323/373) in total of polyps. We compared the AIPHP accuracy results for diminutive and non-diminutive polyps (82.1% vs. 92.2%; p=0.0032). The accuracy of the hyperplastic histology prediction was significantly better by NICE compared to AIPHP method both in the diminutive polyps (n=207) (95.2% vs. 82.1%) (p<0.001) and also in all evaluated polyps (n=373) (97.1% vs. 86.6%) (p<0.001) Conclusions: Our artificial intelligence based polyp histology prediction software could predict histology with high accuracy only in the large size polyp subgroup.

Country performance in e-sport: Social and economic development determinants

The article examines the cases of 18 countries that have been consistently ranked by Esports Earnings over the past ten years to find the social and economic determinants that may determine a country’s success in the international e-sports arena. In the study, indicators of a country’s cybersports success consider the annual volume of prizes won by its e-sportsmen, the ranking place in the world rankings and the total number of e-sportsmen. The hypothesis about the possible influence of a number of macroeconomic indicators, as well as the characteristics of the overall level of social stability on the development of e-sports within the country, was put forward and verified. The scientific landscape of research on cybersports, published in Scopus (by prevailing research topics, the geography of research network leaders, and the evolution of scientific search), was structured using the VOSviewer toolkit. By means of canonical analysis, pairwise relationships in the chain “economic development – social development – e-sports development,” as well as determinants with strong intragroup and intergroup relationships, have been revealed; and these relationships were quantified in the aggregate by means of structural modeling. The results of the calculations showed that the economic stability of the country rather than social stability has a greater influence on its success in the international e-sports arena. The most relevant indicators of economic development, considering success in e-sports, are GDP, unemployment rate and direct foreign investments, social development – poverty rate, population migration and Gini coefficient.

Measuring industry digital transformation with a composite indicator: A case study of the utility industry

Climate change, urban sprawl, a global pandemic, and the general trend of digitizing economies are driving the need for digital transformation of utilities. Policymakers of industry digital transformation need some aggregated metric that captures the essence of this multidimensional concept, identifies the pros and cons of current policies, and guides future directions based on cross-country benchmarking. This study develops the Industry Digital Transformation Index for the utility industry (IDTIu) as a composite indicator. IDTIu provides an aggregate score for the digital transformation of the national utility industry based on 31 indicators grouped into 8 sub-indices. IDTIu scores were calculated for 34 European countries based on 2020 data. To avoid the methodological challenges of equal weighting and expert assessments, we applied the original Benefit-of-the-Doubt (BoD) model and its two extensions for the proportion and priority of sub- indices. Our results show that (i) the full flexibility of the original BoD model leads to the expected deficiencies in ranking leaders and assigning zeros to insignificant sub-indices; (ii) BoD model with ordinal sub-index share restrictions does not allow ranking of laggards when IoT, AI, and BDA are ranked as top 3 priorities. Therefore, at the current stage of the digital transformation of utilities, we recommend the BoD model with proportional sub-index share restrictions.

On using fuzzy c-means clustering in the fuzzy signature concept classification of liver lesions

Liver is a very unique organ, it has double blood supply, not only through the arteries, but also through the veins. This property makes the contrast material enhanced computer tomography images show very characteristic behavior, depending on the time passed from the adjustment of the contrast material. When diagnosing a nodule in the liver by computer tomography, radiologist experts use multiple images with different delay factors, and generally, five basic characteristic properties of the nodule compared to the normal liver tissues. In the following considerations, we give a simplified model that reproduces the way medical experts take decisions, and offer a possibility to develop a computer aided diagnosis method. The classification of the nodules applies a model with fuzzy signatures, where the aggregation functions in the intermediate nodes are representing the radiologist point of view, while the membership degrees/functions at the leaves of the fuzzy signature's rooted tree are obtained from calculations applying the fuzzy c-means clustering algorithm.
