The research will pay particular attention to the ways in which generative AI can influence human-AI interaction and reduce cognitive biases in the decision-making process. The analysis will explore the experiences and limitations of AI-based decision-making, highlighting the practical benefits and potential limitations of the technology in the corporate environment. The results of this research can contribute to a more effective application of generative AI in decision support and help organisations to optimise their decision-making processes.

Rankings: Blind spots in startup ecosystem research

The concept of ecosystem is becoming increasingly popular in economic, scientific and policy systems alike, and its use is embedded more and more in everyday practice. It provides a theoretical framework for policy planning documents, business plans and scientific research. This is facilitated by a holistic approach that understands ecosystems not only as resource allocation systems, but also as a complex structure of governance that includes cognitive elements and interactions. In parallel with its rise in popularity, indices and rankings have been developed for measuring and comparing the performance of individual ecosystems, influencing not only the associated discourse but also the decisions of ecosystem actors. Compared to the innovation and the entrepreneurship ecosystem frameworks, the concept of a startup ecosystem is a relatively new category. Related startup ecosystem rankings, emerging in recent years, are meant to provide performance comparability of these ecosystems. These rankings and their underlying variables have not been in the center of academic interest, but the holistic nature of the ecosystem conceptual framework requires a deeper understanding and analysis of the field. As a first step, a structured synthesis of appropriate research questions and future research directions must be ensured. The present paper attempts to do this by describing the specificities of the holistic ecosystem approach and a possible research agenda on startup ecosystem rankings.

Modelling employee retention in small and medium-sized enterprises and large enterprises in a dynamically changing business environment

Purpose: This study aims to explore the holistic context of organisational staff retention in small, medium and large organisations. It also aims to identify the factors affecting the retention of organisations of different sizes. Design/methodology/approach: The study implements an empirical test of a model created during previous research with the participation of 511 employees. The responses to the online questionnaire and the modelling were analysed using the partial least squares structural equation modelling method. The models were tested for internal consistency reliability, convergent and discriminant validity, multicollinearity and model fit. Findings: Two models were tested by organisation size, which revealed a total of 62 significant correlations between the latent variables tested. Identical correlations were present in both models in 22 cases. After testing the hypotheses, critical variables (nature of work, normative commitment, benefits, co-workers and organisational commitment) were identified that determine employees’ organisational commitment and intention to leave, regardless of the size of the organisation. Research limitations/implications: As a result of this research, the models developed are suitable for identifying differences in organisational staffing levels, but there is as yet no empirical evidence on the use of the scales for homogeneous groups of employees. Practical implications: The results show that employees’ normative commitment and organisational commitment are critical factors for retention. Of the satisfaction factors examined, the nature of work, benefits and co-workers have a significant impact on retention in organisations, so organisational retention measures should focus on improving satisfaction regarding these factors. Social implications: The readers of the journal would appreciate the work, which highlights the significance of employee psychology and retention for organisational success. Originality/value: The study is based on primary data and, to the best of the authors’ knowledge, is one of the few studies that take a holistic approach to organisational staff retention in the context of the moderating effect of organisational size. This study contributes to a comprehensive understanding of the phenomenon of employee retention and in contrast to previous research, examines the combined effect of several factors.

Wide Open Spaces: How Low-Context Cultures Foster Creativity

Why are some cultures more creatively productive than others? This paper explores this question through the framework of high-and low-context cultures. It argues that low-context cultures—where listeners are assumed to have minimal background knowledge or implicit understanding—foster creativity by forcing evaluation of a larger mental search space and encouraging speakers to assess and present their ideas explicitly. High-context cultures pro-mote seamless communication through shared understanding, but they may inadvertently stifle creativity by limiting the mental flexibility of presenters and audiences. They also tend to enforce conformity to cultural expectations. This paper concludes with recommendations to nurture originality and non-traditional thinking in high-context cultures.

Virtual reality is becoming more widespread around the world and many industries are beginning to recognise its potential. In this paper, we have explored the relevant issues between virtual reality and marketing, based on which we have addressed the topic of virtual reality and retail. The methodology of the present paper is a Systematic Literature Review using the PRISMA model. Based on the SLR, 20 academic articles were found to be relevant to the research topic and are described in the paper. A further objective of the study was to design a future research plan, which was based on the SLR. Based on the research plan, future research will aim to investigate how the decision making process takes place in a 3D virtual shop and how it differs from 2D web shops.

The Role of Regulatory Sandboxes in FinTech Innovation: A Comparative Case Study of the UK, Singapore, and Hungary

Regulatory sandboxes have emerged as policy instruments designed to support FinTech innovation while maintaining supervisory oversight. By allowing firms to test financial products in controlled environments, sandboxes aim to reduce regulatory uncertainty and facilitate market entry. Despite their growing adoption, empirical evidence of their effectiveness remains limited, particularly in emerging markets. This study explores the impact of regulatory sandboxes on innovation and market access through a qualitative comparative case study of the United Kingdom, Singapore, and Hungary. Drawing on document analysis and thematic coding, the research evaluates sandbox design, regulatory support, and innovation outcomes across the three jurisdictions. Findings show that sandboxes enhance access to funding, accelerate product development, and foster regulator–firm collaboration. While the UK and Singapore benefit from mature ecosystems and structured frameworks, Hungary illustrates sandbox potential in developing markets. The paper contributes to FinTech regulation literature and provides policy recommendations for optimizing sandbox design across varied institutional contexts.

The article also delves into current development trends and challenges, encompassing advancements in AV sensing technologies, traffic safety, and cybersecurity. These findings collectively suggest that the deployment of autonomous vehicles brings substantial benefits to sustainable urban mobility; however, further development is necessary to support the widespread adoption of AVs and strengthen societal trust.

An Approach for Hierarchical Clustering of Road Vehicle Vibration Spectrums

Research on the non-stationary nature of road vehicle vibrations (RVV) led to advances in simulating such processes. Contemporary methods introduced for the analysis of RVV primarily aimed at partitioning the signal in the time- or time − frequency domain, providing differing segments of a signal. However, a degree of dissimilarity, or conversely similarity, is still challenging to find. Hereunder we argue that in some cases, merely a statement of dissimilarity between neighbouring segments within a signal might be well-enough, though from a broader perspective, the assessment of the similarity of discrete Fourier transforms (DFT) may be the next practical step forward. For this reason, the current paper presents the hierarchical clustering of elements of the short-time Fourier transform (STFT) plane from an RVV measurement; secondly, it introduces a clustering validation metric to arrive at an optimum distance metric and a threshold to use in binary hierarchical clusters.

The purpose of the research is to review how artificial intelligence is integrated into the education of employees, emphasizing that the rapid application of artificial intelligence significantly affects the development of the workforce and the achievement of sustainability goals. The European Commission also continuously monitors changes in the field of digitization and artificial intelligence. Among other things, the European Union uses ESG (environmental, social, governance) aspects to measure sustainability performance, relying on domestic and international literature to reveal how education, investments and international cooperation can lead to social development and market competitiveness. As a research method, we use the analysis of annual reports, training and conference reports, company websites, and databases on corporate ESG commitment, employee development, and digitalization. Based on the decision of the European Commission, the continuous and rapid progress of the development of digitization and artificial intelligence is an issue to be monitored with reporting obligations. Analyzes of ESG reports help to understand the sustainability practices and environmental effects of a given organization, help to reveal social responsibility, interpret the company's long-term value creation potential and risks, measure and compare the sustainability performance of different companies and organizations. Analyzing ESG reports is key to promoting transparency and responsible business practices. Based on the developments, in addition to the economic results, the realization of the sustainability goals is becoming more and more tangible in the context of the ESG framework, the investigation of digitalization and artificial intelligence, as well as the labor market and education.
