Application of the spme technique for determinate the quality indicators of dairy products

Publication Name: Elelmiszervizsgalati Kozlemenyek

Publication Date: 2020-12-01

Volume: 66

Issue: 4

Page Range: 3188-3201

Description:

Solid Phase Microextraction (SPME) is a relatively new extraction technique that combines taking samples from a mixture with a simpler desorption of the components to be analyzed of the unenriched sample in its original state in the analytical instrument. Based on a large number of publications in the literature, the authors describe the possibilities of using the SPME technique in the case of dairy products. The main groups of components that can be detected by the SPME sampling procedure, such as fatty acids, aldehydes and ketones, esters, alcohols, sulfur-containing organic compounds, furans, phenols and terpenoids are presented, through examples in the literature. Due to the limited scope of the manuscript, the authors report only on the possibilities of sample preparation using the SPME technique. Instrumental analytical methods following solid state microextraction, mainly using gas or liquid chromatography, are not described. Details of instrumental analyses are available in the cited literature sources.

Effect of protein content on the thermal effusivity of foods

Publication Name: Acta Alimentaria

Publication Date: 2021-12-31

Volume: 50

Issue: 4

Page Range: 475-483

Description:

The availability of thermophysical properties of both foods and their constituents is of considerable importance to the industry. The thermal effusivity is one of the less explored thermophysical parameters. It governs the penetration of heat into materials and is defined as the square root of the product of thermal conductivity of the material, volume-specific heat capacity, and density. This paper describes the application of a relatively new inverse photopyroelectric method (IPPE) to determine thermal effusivity of dehydrated whey protein isolate and egg white powder versus protein content. In both cases the effusivity values decreased linearly with increasing protein content. One percent increase in protein content of whey protein isolate and egg white lead to 6.5 and 7.2 Ws1/2 m-2 K-1 decrease in effusivity values, respectively.

Experimental result on supersonic flow simulation on emulated digital CNN-UM

Publication Name: Proceedings of the IEEE International Workshop on Cellular Neural Networks and their Applications

Publication Date: 2008-09-23

Volume: Unknown

Issue: Unknown

Page Range: 5

Description:

In the area of mechanical, aerospace, chemical and civil engineering the solution of partial differential equations (PDEs) has been one of the most important problems of mathematics for a long time. In this field, one of the most exciting areas is the simulation of fluid flow, which involves for example problems of air, sea and land vehicle motion. ©2008 IEEE.

Number archetypes and "background" control theory concerning the fine structure constant

Publication Name: Acta Polytechnica Hungarica

Publication Date: 2008-12-01

Volume: 5

Issue: 2

Page Range: 71-104

Description:

In this paper we analyze in detail the central role of number '137', the so-called Fine Structure Constant in the collaboration of Pauli and Jung. First, we present the fascination or the obsession of Pauli for the interpretation of number '137'. Second, we treat the spontaneous messages originating from unconscious concerning number '137' in the wellknown dreams of Pauli. We restrict our investigations to the dreams containing the especially important formulae of Fine Structure Constant (4π3 + π2 + π), and also that containing the so-called background models of mathematical control systems. Third, we shortly mention four of the numerous synchronicities arising during the Pauli-Jung collaboration.

Improvements to the bacterial memetic algorithm used for fuzzy rule base extraction

Publication Name: Cimsa 2008 IEEE Conference on Computational Intelligence for Measurement Systems and Applications Proceedings

Publication Date: 2008-09-26

Volume: Unknown

Issue: Unknown

Page Range: 38-43

Description:

In this paper we discuss new methods to improve the Bacterial Memetic Algorithm (BMA) used for fuzzy rule base extraction. The first two methods are knot order violation handling methods which improves the performance of the BMA rather in the case of more complex fuzzy rule base. The third method is a new modification of the BMA in which the order of the operators is modified. This method improves the performance of the BMA rather in the case of less complex fuzzy rule base. ©2008 IEEE.

Vibration analysis of a suspension system subject to high level of measurement noise

Publication Name: 2017 4th International Conference on Control Decision and Information Technologies Codit 2017

Publication Date: 2017-11-08

Volume: 2017-January

Issue: Unknown

Page Range: 881-886

Description:

Using only vertical acceleration measurements for the sprung and unsprung masses of a suspension system of a commercial city bus, the goal of the paper is to develop an analysis method to find the vibration modes of the mechanical system from data measured during real life operation. The identified vibration modes can be used to (in)validate first principle physical models of the system, while the identified ARMA models can be used to develop uncertainty models. The challenge in the problem is that the measurements are subject to very high level of noise due to maneuvering of the vehicle, nonlinear effects of the suspension system, vibration of the engine and the gear system, and sensor noise. Nonparametric and parametric modeling methods are applied to evaluate the quality of the measurements and find the invariant properties of the suspension system. It is shown based on multiple experiments that independently of the actual road properties and operating conditions, eigen-frequencies of some vibration modes can be determined with relatively small uncertainty, while the corresponding damping factors have varying amount of uncertainty. Comparing the results with the modes of a full car vehicle model developed based on physical considerations, it can be concluded that an identification algorithm for obtaining the parameters of the physical model must be complemented with a suitable uncertainty modeling and classification.
