Nowadays, only companies that are adaptable and flexible in their structure and processes can survive. The basis for a motivated company aiming for peak performance is organisational innovation. Hungary is one of the less innovative countries in Europe. Only organisations that can integrate new solutions smoothly into their everyday operations will remain truly competitive. The Government of Hungary, in its Partnership Agreement with the European Union, set out the goals for improving and supporting the adaptability of enterprises, the promotion of flexible and family-friendly workplace practices and services, and the employment of women with young children. The aim of this study is to demonstrate, through a Hungarian example, the receptiveness of Hungarian small and medium-sized enterprises to flexible forms of employment. The effect of flexible employment on economic adaptability and competitiveness through workforce efficiency and retention is examined. Its aim is the raise the awareness of options to increase employment among Hungarian SME managers.

Navigating COVID-19 Pandemic: Empowering Sustainable Supply Chains Performance through Leadership Capability, Knowledge Sharing Capability, and Strategic Management Capability amid COVID-19 Disruptions

The advent of COVID-19 triggered widespread disruptions globally, adversely affecting businesses and resulting in financial challenges and a decline in overall performance. This unparalleled public health emergency has resulted in significant disturbances within the sustainable supply chain and posed a risk to human survival. In view of these considerations, this investigation aims to evaluate the effect of COVID-19 on Sustainable Supply Chain Performance (SSCP) along with its influence on leadership capability (LC), knowledge sharing capability (KSC), strategic management capability (SMC), and moderating organizational commitment (OC) in Pakistan. To examine the proposed hypotheses, data were collected from Pakistani enterprises actively involved in the supply chain and supply chain departments of manufacturing firms. Subsequently, comprehensive analyses were conducted using structural equation modeling to derive meaningful insights. According to the empirical outcomes, the pandemic had a negative influence on SSCP in Pakistan, but LC, KSC, and SMC helped mitigate these disruptions. In addition, LC, KSC, and SMC successfully mediated the relationship between COVID-19 and SSCP, moderating the role of OC. This study contributes significantly to the literature by incorporating resource-based view (RBV), dynamic capability view (DCV), and knowledge-based view (KBV) theories to analyze and understand LC, KSC, and SMC. Moreover, to mitigate the interruptions resulting from pandemic in Supply Chain (SC) operations and enhance profitability amidst such unprecedented circumstances, the model explained in this study can be a valuable tool for SC and logistics management specialists.

Perception Accuracy of a Multi-Channel Tactile Feedback System for Assistive Technology

Assistive technology uses multi-modal feedback devices, focusing on the visual, auditory, and haptic modalities. Tactile devices provide additional information via touch sense. Perception accuracy of vibrations depends on the spectral and temporal attributes of the signal, as well as on the body parts they are attached to. The widespread use of AR/VR devices, wearables, and gaming interfaces requires information about the usability of feedback devices. This paper presents results of an experiment using an 8-channel tactile feedback system with vibrators placed on the wrists, arms, ankles, and forehead. Different vibration patterns were designed and presented using sinusoidal frequency bursts on 2, 4, and 8 channels. In total, 27 subjects reported their sensation formally and informally on questionnaires. Results indicate that 2 and 4 channels could be used simultaneously with high accuracy, and the transducers’ optimal placement (best sensitivity) is on the wrists, followed by the ankles. Arm and head positions were inferior and generally inadequate for signal presentation. For optimal performance, signal length should exceed 500 ms. Furthermore, the amplitude level and temporal pattern of the presented signals have to be used for carrying information rather than the frequency of the vibration.

A novel hybrid decision support methodology for data-driven comparative analysis of EU macroeconomic performance

This study aims to evaluate the macroeconomic performance of 24 European Union (EU) member countries for the period 2014–2023 using the data-driven Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) approach. In this context, an integrated weighting methodology combining Entropy and CRITIC techniques is applied together with Adaptive Standardized Intervals Based Alternative Ranking Technique (ARTASI) to ensure objectivity, stability and sensitivity in the analysis. In addition, in order to provide a comparative assessment of subjective and objective weightings in the study, opinions received from eight academicians who are experts in their fields are carried out with the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) approach. Evaluating countries across eight key indicators, the results demonstrate that integrating both weighting methods enhances the robustness of the rankings Malta, the Netherlands, Denmark, the Czech Republic and Ireland generally show strong economic stability over the period considered, while Greece, Italy, Spain, France and Romania show the weakest weak performances.

Description:

There are significant differences between the culture, ideology, and values of different nations, so it is not surprising that there are differences in business ethics and etiquette. Therefore, it is essential when establishing and maintaining business relations that the parties get to know each other's ethnic customs or general international etiquette to approach each other with greater understanding and develop more successful business negotiations and business relationships. This paper aims to illustrate the similarities and differences in etiquette behavior, through the examples of two neighboring countries (Slovakia and Hungary). Based on the results of our primary, questionnaire-based, cross-national research, we conclude that companies in both Hungary and Slovakia consider that the manifestations of business ethics in the countries have improved over the last ten years due to globalization.

Under the counter-revolutionary regime that followed the Soviet Republic, those who did not flee abroad were prosecuted for "serving" the regime during the proletarian dictatorship. In the one-party system after 1945, which was sympathetic to the Soviet Republic, these procedures were viewed extremely negatively and described as a means of retaliation. A reassessment of the topic has begun in the present day. In this paper, I will evaluate the trials of two leaders of the proletarian dictatorship in Veszprém County, examining whether the proceedings and the verdicts in their cases were in accordance with the law in force, or whether there was a conceptual character to these proceedings.

Augmented reality presents numerous opportunities and challenges for marketers to enrich the retail shopping experience. Although the technology is well established, practical marketing applications are rare, and the existing literature is unstructured. We conduct a systematic literature review with the goal of synthesizing the latest developments in the field and developing research propositions. We analyze 91 papers and identify four major enablers of AR in retail marketing: enhancement of the consumer experience, improvement of the customer-brand relationship, support of marketing activities, and promotion of marketing competitiveness. The challenges of AR adoption in marketing include technical limitations, consumer-oriented challenges, technological immaturity, and organizational challenges.

Comparative study of the application of steels and aluminium in lightweight production of automotive parts

The automotive industry has a decisive role in the economy of developed countries. Sheet metal forming – as one of the main processes in car manufacturing – has similarly important role. Concerning the recent trends in car production, the application of lightweight constructions principles is the main priority to meet customers' demands and the increased legal requirements. To meet these expectations, the application of high strength materials is regarded as one of the most promising possibilities. Applying high strength materials – beside high strength steels like DP1000, TRIP780 recently aluminium alloys, e.g. AA7021 or AA7075 – have a positive response for many of the requirements: increasing strength results in the application of thinner sheets together with significant mass reduction, leading to lower consumption with increased environment protection; however it can often lead to the decrease of formability, too. In this paper, an introduction on recent material developments in the automotive industry concerning both the use of new generation high strength steels and light metals with particular emphasis on aluminium alloys will be given. A comparison between steel and aluminium application in the automotive industry is given from various points of view. Since our main topic is the sheet metal forming, in this paper the body-in-white manufacturing in the automotive industry is the primary focus field.
